Default MSPNP vs DIYPNP

looking for some clarification before i throw away my money

Can some please explain the differences between getting a brain built MSDIY and just buying the MSPNP? They seem to be the same price but maybe there are some pros or cons between the two that im not aware of.

Thanks

MSPNP is using MS-1 chip and MSDIY is MS-2 as far as I know.

ms3 is not plug and play. yet.
diypnp is, like already mentioned, a ms2pnp
mspnp is just an ms1

if you want ms3 you'll have to build it yourself.
if you want to build ms3 you might as well build ms2 then upgrade it to ms3.

Diypnp is microsquirt module. Self contained. Self aware.

LOL isn't that a movie quote. Any other major differences or reason to go one way or the other.

No that'd be utterly pointless.

to upgrade from MS2 to MS3 you remove the MSII daughtercard and replace it with a MSIII daughtercard.

building a MS2 and then binning the daughtercard immediately is a complete waste of money.

Only if you immediately upgrade it. What I meant is - build MS2, learn how to use it. Then LATER upgrade to MS3 when you can actually tell what the extra features are and how to use them It's a lot cheaper upfront cost too.

As far as I know MS2/Extra projects can be loaded onto MS3 without a problem.

Why learn how to use an MS2? that's a waste of money.

The MS3 daughterboard drops right in and there's nothing to "learn". Like you said, the projects can be loaded onto the ms3 firmware.

If you go straight to MS3 you have a better CPU than can load maps from an MS2, but have access to added feature sets if you choose to use them - which you should up front. If you opt for the MS3X board, the harness and intial build is much simpiler.

so ive been doing a lot more reading and had another question and thought i would just onto this thread apposed to opening a new one.

What are the expected issues with either the PNP or the Brainbuilt DIY for an 89-93. I read that a lot of people are having idle issues and RPM reading issues. Are those the exception or the rule?

I will be running RX-7 560cc injectors and a OEM fuel pump (not sure if the fuel pump will also be an issue to feed the injectors)

Thanks again guys.

no idle issues if tuned properly.

hell i was running a MSI on my car over the weekend with a/c and it wasn't bad, just idled too low with a/c on, but there's custom firmware that can solve that.

In case anyone cares, i just go off the phone with MSPNP.

The main differences is a faster processor and long pulse duration on the injectors in the MS2DIY PNP which helps when you have larger injectors and youre trying to idle correctly. The cons for the MS2DIY PNP, are no formal support, they always have them in stock, and each PNP is tested on an actual miatas before shipping.

How are these cons?
