not much point to this thread other than to say i am now officially a member of the miata/mx5 megasquirt community

fun times ahead!! i'm sure i'll be bugging you guys with questions soon, but just thought i'd start this thread to welcome myself to the club

Are you assembling it or did you buy it preassembled. If you are assembling it then the BEST advice I can give you is to scrub the **** out of it with acetone with a toothbrush when you are done. This solve like 80% of my initial problems. Apparently the solder flux can short out components. If bought it preassembled then you're basically 90% of the way to having your car running on it. It's actually much more simple than I thought it would be. Welcome to the club.

thanks!

i bought the kit almost finished from another mx5 guy. it is tested and working so far, and there is only a bit of soldering to do to finish it off. hopefully i'll have it finished and installed in the next few weeks.

i haven't actually openned it up to inspect it yet.
