still can't get it to turn over, got spark, just no idle.

tried DIYs spark output with the resistors; gets no spark.

Kag's gets spark, but no idle.

I think what i'm going to do is wire it like brad's wire change the harness to match, and call it a day.

got the bitch! had to reverse the spark output, idling on my harness and MS, now to tune my maps and enrichment.....

still not able to get spark with DIYs resistor setup, used Kag's inputs for the spark....dunno what's up with that.

I've have come to the conclusion that something is very wrong with DIY's spark output mods. I haven't been able to get it to work a 2 MS's now.

doesn't always sound like that, sounded ok later, car hadn't been started since Dec, running the wrong req fuel and a 1500rpm idle, and slipping acc belts. I have another video of it running on my MS, but i left my camera in the car.

Now I'm at the point where I think I need to track down a vacuum leak on my MAP and boost gauge line.

Car idled high and had a low vacuum reading 15-17~hg.

wiggled the vacuum line under the dash and it effected the idle...found my problem and replace a good length of line, started the car back up and it was hunting for idle 500-2000rpms and low as vacuum.

so i gave up for the day, ill update you guys later.

at least i can solder really good now....and mad props to Brian for answering my 200 phone calls today.

I'm using their spark mods on my '99 and they work great. I had to swap my coil outputs when i installed it for some reason but outside of that it works fine.

Yah I hate you Scott. Your now officially farther along with your MS then I am and you have had it 2 days. That just means all tommorow at work I will be working on catching up.

Goodluck on finding that vacume leak. Definately keep me updated with it.

He cheated though, I built the MS and it was almost complete. I just didn't have time to sort out the spark issue because of school and lack of another car to continue jumping mine. I do have to commend him on being able to figure it out in one full day though.

The whole having to swap the spark output thing is weird. I wired it for SparkA to be Coil A and SparkB to CoilB as per the wiring schematic. That however seems to be backwards, who would've thought.

Magnamx and cjernigan on your wiring harness do you hve your spark out putting on pins 27 and 29 or 31 and 36? I believe that is the only diffrence between mine and Scotts harness. I have my spark outputting on 27,29 and am about to go switch it to 31 and 36 on my harness and pray that works.

mines idling pretty now, 870-950rpms, very smooth, 14.7-15.2 AFR, 38 kPa

I had to go and change my req fuel, i used the Megatune software to calculate it and it came up with 8.7, only runs good with 13.2, do i just need to modify my fuel maps to correct that? or is that just one of those things?

I have a feeling it doesn't matter where it goes on the harness as long as it corresponds to the correct output....however, we couldn't see any spark wired like DIY, with the resitors and crap, moving those and we got spark, then i just had to reverse the coil outputs and it fired..... I'll snap a pic of mine and you can see what i ended with after you went home.

Set your reqfuel to what it calculates. Then go into Tuning- VE Table 1 or whatever it is for fuel. Then use the Q(richer) W(leaner) keys to change the fuel map at idle to get it right. Adjusting your req fuel to get the idle right is a good way to get the car started and running but once you have that accomplished you need to change it back and adjust your maps accordingly.
Atleast that's what I got from the manual.
