Permanently customizing gauge display on megatune
#21
Ok Joe...
I've got this new toy ($26.18 shipped): a Fujitsu TeamPad 7600
http://cgi.ebay.com/Fujitsu-Teampad-...item45f04c8aca
Whopping 100mHz processor (remember those...that was like 1997 folks)
32MB Ram
CF card slot
What makes it awesome is the SIZE
6" wide screen, 7.2" diagonal (DIN radio spot is 7.5")
8.5" overall width (center console is 9")
Which means it will mount, longways, in the double din spot, being completely hidden behind the console uprights, and the screen proportional without rotating the display or whatnot.
The only thing that worries me is the possibility of not having enough resolution, and OS. I'm pretty sure I can get Win95 on it, but don't think it will run XP.
I'm still looking for the resolution, and can't remember the minimum MegaTune needs anyhow. Anybody know offhand?
There are 4 more left on eBay if these work and others are interested. I plan on setting it up with a power supply, and having it go into hibernate when power supply is lost, and coming back on with a tap of the screen. This will mean I have the choice of display lighting up the interior or not when I climb in late at night leaving a dark parking lot.
