Default Interesting news about noise on TPS MS V3 board

Apparently the two polyfuses bring a lot of noise into the system:

Read here - http://www.msextra.com/forums/viewto...2233&start=200

As an electronics nerd I have no clue - what would be the correct substitute fuses to get?
I will wait what happens in the thread off course before I touch anything.

Thought you might find this interesting (Jason did quite a bit of work in the thread)

Does the DIYPNP have something similar and/or what noise could equally be contributing on that board?

I see lots of noise that I think is coming from the LC1 EGO sensor (that is grabbing it's 12V heater power from the ECU and the rhythmic heating cycle seems to be seen visually in the battery and in noise of the sensors TPS etc) - simple plan is to move to another 12V feed that is switched by relay from the ECU instead, but anything to cut down the noise from a component (eg regulator) is worth a try too.

I'm getting about -/+20 tpsDOT noise with my Enhanced MS2. With the DIYPNP, it was more like +/-70. Removing all the high-noise components from the V3 board (injectors drivers, idle valve driver, boost control, etc) has done wonders. TPSdot lag filter at 85%, custom 3.1.2 firmware with no tpsDOT enhancements.

What is an Enhanced MS2? - does this contain noise filters or other circuitry to reduce voltage noise or sensor noise?

Does removing unused components apply to DIYPNP too? I built the DIYPNP with everything added, with the view that maybe sometime in the future they'd be needed. Mmm, perhaps I should remove them?

I'm running with 100% lag filter and with the new TPS Oversampling and tpsDOT Moving Anchor I've got AE running at 20% with zero false triggers. I could probably run at 10% but have chosen to avoid that as my right foot is generally not that steady.

Obviously I'd prefer it to be generally quieter in the signal in the first place, but I'd say we've engineered a fairly good outcome in software.

I also have tps noise. What is the best way to keep it in check it really got bad the other day and made the car run like crap. It got better when I wd40 the connection but it still dances around a little.

i bet my tps noise is greater than yours. i need to play with the new ms3 firmware to see how it handles it.

MS2V3 board that only contains the input circuits. The high noise outputs are on a different expansion board (like an MS3X) that has its own power supply and grounds.

You could try removing the two injector drives from the uS module and have them separately.

I may try the new firmware if time permits.
