Default VEAL custom filters

Where do I find the info on all of the custom filter options?

Google has failed me, TS tells me to check their website but that doesnt help at all,

Thanks,
Dann

I tried searching a few weeks ago, didn't find much.

Most of your inputs should be available via the filter. I know I've used RPM, MAP, MAT and TPS.

What is the filter you want, and then we can work out the Boolean string.

I want it to not autotune immediately after start when the wideband is warming up and telling the ecu its super rich. So I guess I want it to stop autotuning under 9.5:1 afr or .75 lambda or something.

Thanks heaps,
Dann

Just set it to not auto tune until coolant temperature hits 200F. If your wideband isn't warmed up buy then throw it in the trash and get a new one

The simple solution is to not start VEAL until you want it to...

Setting filters for low rpm, low load, low CLT usually covers the idle warmup, hot restart (which is one case of waiting for the WB to heat up again).

The idle corner is not tuned well by VEAL anyway.

why are you pushing start autotune during startup?

use CLT > 160°F filter AND RPM > 1200. You shouldn't really be tuning until youre fully warmed up anyways, then you can tune your warmup enrichments based off a warmed motor tuned fuel map.

if you filter 9.5:1, then it's possibly you wont be able to tune an overly rich fuel map.

Its for if the car stalls and gets immediately started again. Its for hot restart.

Can you just tell me how to change the afr range, it already does it but it is set to <8:1 or something and it need to be <10:1.

Thanks,
Dann

Why is your car stalling?

pretty certain the VEAL already has a filter for that condition with the AFR. It should say like AFR out of range or something like that because any good WBo2 shouldn't be sending a real signal to the ECU during warmup, and TS can determine if the WB is active or not.

If you have an MTXL or LC1/2 you don't need a custom filter to prevent VEAL to run during sensor warmup, I dunno about others but I'm sure it's the same.

Very light goggling
Megasquirt MSEXTRA / MS3EFI • VEAL - How to modify O2 out of range limits? (View topic)
You can put hard limits with a simple custom filter.

comment out the deadO2 filter and add a custom filter:

afr < 10.5 || afr > 19

Make those upper and lower limits what ever you want as your hard points.
Post is one year old so the latest TS might behave differently, but the syntax for the afr in a custom filter could be right.

I tune quite a few of these so if you do it often you just get stalls during autotune, whether I stall it because it has a button clutch or a weird friction point of because I am playing with dual maps and getting to to idle right on both fuels is hard.

It does have a filter out of range afr but it just isnt low enough 90% of the time during a hot start.

Also it simply doesnt recognize 'afr' 'AFR' 'lambda' or anything else i can think of.

Thanks,
Dann

Use "afr1" instead, found the name by looking at the properties of the AFR gauge.
Very well documented

Where did you find the 'properties'?

Thanks a lot,

Ill check now.

EDIT: works, awesome. I guess just any of the gauge names would work?

TS Gauge Cluster, right click, Designer mode, right click on the gauge, Properties - Output Channel (shows a list of output parameter names)
Some gauges:
AFR - "afr1"
Engine Speed - "rpm"
Throttle position - "throttle"
Pulse Width 1 - "pulseWidth1"
Coolant temp - "coolant"
Ignition Advance - "advance"
Fuel load - "fuelload"
Manifold Air Temp - "mat"

This might help some other noob.
