Default Spark and fuel map for 1.6 RC440's. Please. I'm finnally finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am finnally finished! YA HO! The injectors I was told were RC550's turned out ot be RC440's. That's cool. They were included in the deal. But all my maps I have obtained are for 550's.

Question

Can someone save me alot of time with a map please.

Should I not obtain a map should I retard the timing 6 degrees like the msd from 2psi higher to start with. And work from there?????

I'm going to start with 6psi, and go up later after I install my clutch.

I've been trying to make my setup simular to Brains in the attempt of achieving 250 hp when dyno tuned later by Begi.

ANYONE HAVE SPARK AND FUEL MAPS FOR 1.6L 440cc injectors.
Thanks

You need a basic understanding of how megasquirt works first. If you did you would now that the actual fuel map doesn't change much but its the req. fuel setting that needs to be changed. Also use diy's spark map. It's not injector dependent as no spark map really is and will be safe at most boost levels as long as your fuel is correct.

just use someone's known good 1.6 mspnp map and scale the required fuel setting to get it to run half decent, then do some normal driving and log it, then let mlv analyze your table. repeat logging and mlv analyzing and while going into more and more boost.

how are you with cranking pulsewidths? I just tuned a friend's 90 with MSPNP, gt2560r, and 460s. I'll upload the fuel and timing vex files once my laptop boots up. I'll warn you now, I run fairly aggressive timing. Like someone else said you will have to tune your car still since every car/setup is different.

I had let the car set a month. So I am reading the manual again to refresh.

Thanks.

Just to second what's been said.. run DIY's spark map until tune time, use VE analyzer for your fuel map, and scale up your cranking PWs and you're most of the way there.

For a ballpark on cranking PWs, the only person here running 440s that springs to mind is Ben, maybe he'll share his table.

No, I won't. He'll blow his **** up with my msq.

Use the base map. It's as good a place to start from as any.

Search around. I know I recently posted my cranking and ASE tables, and I'm running about the same size injectors as you.

I tried to open the files, but for some reason I can't get them to open. The computer asked what program fo I want to open it with. I clicked megatune. And it says wronge version??? Is there a trick to opening it?

I started the car and moved it last night. The car was working fine when I parked it. I could run it through the gears with the venom 550 injectors.
But now the headlights won't raise, and my wideband is stuck on 14.8. My brother installed my radio while I installed the turbo.

I think he didn't attach the wires on the back of the hazard switch. Neither of the buttons worked. I'll have more time to look at it tonight. I'm going to install new plugs too. I'll also recheck the headlight connectors around the heatshield for the air induction.

Thanks to everyone that sent me a map!

that timing map is aggressive. headlights wont move without the switch on the dash.

Would you recommend scaleing the map down 3 degrees and work from there. It is running in the 100's here.

I going print off the mspnp map and compare them. I would like to find medium ground to start from. It might take longer, but at least I shouldn't destroy the motor.

Run the mspnp map. It is safer than what you will see here. Not completely safe since it wasnt tuned for YOUR car but you SHOULDN'T blow anything up assuming you are running safe fuel. I hope to god you know what detonation sounds like and are always listening. Dont blow your **** up by going with someone else's map.

I'm not the greatest at computers. But I know mechanics. I grew up in the garage restoring 66-70 chevells, gto's, & classic trucks. It was my dad's hobby and made extra cash for the family.

As for knock I'm familar with it, and have knocksense just incase the radio is to loud. I'll be more familar with ms after I play with it for the next few days.

And these maps that were generously given, will give me a direction to work towards. Especially as point not to go beyond.
I'm going to tune from the mspnp map at first. Since everyone is warning in that direction, that will be the route I take. And I will work my way into the given maps.

Thanks guys.
