Default Trigger wheel with MS2

Hello All, I am new to this forum. I have searched this but didn't have any luck with finding an answer. I have a 97' Miata that I just put forged internals in. When I put my crank sensor on I realized the car is missing the trigger wheel. I looked in my pictures as history and the car didn't have one when I bought it. Does megasquirt 2 need the crankshaft sensor to run? If there is another forum already answering this can you link me. Thanks!

No. On the 90-97, the MS2 will only use the CAS on the back of the cylinder head.

Thank you! How does that effect the wiring? Would I wire the signal wire from the Cam into pin 24 of the MS?

Hi, I'm also new to forums, and I'm currently having issues as well with my cam sensors. I believe I have an answer to your problem.
Your cam sensor (CAS) has 2 wires. I believe they're optical sensors with 1 and 4 holes. They're called CKP and CMP. I believe CKP goes to your ms2's crank hall sensor wire, and you need to change your ms2 settings to keep your JS10 wire unused, so that you can uses JS10 for your cam's CMP wire. Both CMP and CKP wire connect to your old ECU.

Unfortunately the person who built my MS2 didn't think it JS10 needed to work as an input =[

I have been looking, butvwhere would I find JS10? I'm not sure where to find that on the harness or in tunerstudio

a simple search would've brought up what you wanted, but here I is. Ignore the other guy. After you do the above, imagine your car is a 94 and go from there.
