Tuner Studio not recognizing my MS PNP2
Hooked up my laptop running Tuner Studio Lite v3.0.28 to my MS PNP2 via a USB to RS232 cable & it's not reading my PNP2. I'm hoping that maybe my ebay cable is just junk, but anyone else have this issue? Anything I can check to rule out everything else?
Figure out what chip is in the cable and make sure you have the driver installed. Either prolific or FTDI. Check that it gets recognized as a COM port in Device Manager.
the adapter from DIY gave me multiple issues, like for multiple people due to the size/weight.
I use a FTDI serial to usb CABLE, as in serial on one end and USB on the other
such as:

hope this helps and that you get it figured out

The trick is getting a real FTDI chipset and not a chinese knockoff. The knockoff's have all sorts of random problems. At one point in time FTDI even built instructions in their drivers to basically brick the knockoffs.
I know on my laptop, if I plug it into one USB port, it won't read it but if I plug it into another USB port, it works. I'm not sure if it's because of the type of USB port for different things or not. But i'm sure you've tried all the USB ports before coming on here so it could just be the cable you got.
Can you connect the laptop to the ECU, turn the key on, make sure TunerStudio is closed, and run the PortCheck.exe program? Post a screen shot of the results you get.
Interesting. Well this is the one I bought. Hopefully it works. I don't have the MS installed yet (waiting on the exhaust bung for WB02) but can report back when I try it.
