yes, and make sure you redo your throttle calibration.

Is there any type of write-up for dummies on this? I have been reading endlessly, and it is still above my head. I am sure it is something simple, as it seems to be glazed over in so many threads.

I am trying to do it right this time.

I followed these instructions. Hope this helps you. Also be sure to set your map sensor to the correct one in your TS project directory. I think this is where my issues were stemming from.

Thanks flip. I do not think I was specific enough at all. I have been running TS for months now and it has been great. I swapped heads over the past couple weeks, and when I went to open TS it refused and prompted me to download the updated version. Instead, I opened up Megatune and used that to set base timing, and scaled the fuel table to be 'ok.'

95% sure I am running high res already. Levnub copied his MT onto my laptop way back in the beginning.

MT's coolant and IAT temps are super high, probably because we never did any of that .ini or .inc stuff. BUT, when I switched to TS the gauges seemed much more realistic, but still a little off.

So other than having my pretty little gauges being possibly more accurate, I am guessing that there may be other benefits I am missing.

Now I have seen a thread somewhere about changing some values in Notepad to get the AIT or CLT to read more accurately. And then there is this thread about changing values in Notepad to get the AFR target table to read properly. Is this what all these .ini and .inc things are, changes to the Notepad? This is where I am confused.

Someone else will be able to help you out much more with that issue. The .ini and .inc files are written in "notepad", but in my case I just copy and paste the files into another folder in order to use TS. Those links I posted show a way to use easytherm in order to calibrate your settings with your stock miata sensors which may be what you are asking about.

With the AEM wideband, as far as I know, to get the readings to match up between the guage and TS or MT you have to change part of an equation in one of the "notepad" files. Other than that, I'm afraid I'm not of much use to this question. Good luck.

I finally got around to trying Live Tune on T.S today.

I did not check live update or whatever it is called and drove around for a while trying to hit all parts of the table. When I got home the lap top crashed and it kept making a beeping sound.
I rebooted and tried again, this time I took a shorter trip to drop off my daughter. As I sat waiting for my daughter the screen went dark but I could tell the lap top was still on.

It seems there is something that happens when the car runs and then comes to a halt. I run the lap top off the DC to AC converter so there might be a voltage dip etc. Maybe it is due to the reported alternator issues.

In summary, I got very little tuning done. The 2nd time I tried I let it update as it went along. The VE table still looks like **** to me.
The two little windows in the tuning screen had green and squares that I think were representations of the cells affected and the severity of the changes.

I'll try again tomorrow..

I'm trying to start using TunerStudio. I have a Brain-built MS1 with the 10G firmware. In the original mtCfg folder the only .inc file is throttlefactor.inc. It seems from this writeup there should be something like 3 .inc files. What gives?

You should have them in your project folder's mtcfg folder, otherwise you've never seen the correct AIT and CLT temps on your laptop.

Did you buy it directly from me? Must have been before 2009 if so.

Standalone or piggyback?

Definitely not in the project folder's mtcfg folder. Strangely, ambient AIT and CLT temps seemed normal.

Standalone. The p.o. of the car bought it from you, not sure of the year he got it. Here is the FS thread I bought the car from, if it helps you put the p.o. together with the ecu: https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t35329/ .

The car is in 1M pieces right now, so unfortunately I can't really plug in to my MS. I am trying to build up a VE table to let my new 1.9L burn some E85, and want it to at least idle before we put it on the dyno to run in.

Bump. What creates those .inc files?

Yeah I built his.

You need these files: Index of /MS/msq/Therm Files/16L_standalone

long story short I had to get a new laptop so I loaded up tunerstudio again. did some tuning and my tune started going nuts. back and forth, one minute my idle would be at 17 5 min later it would be at 12. seemed to really change a lot depending on temperature. so I did some investigating and my .inc files are missing after I burned a tune. anyway are these the same as the mspnp 9093 without afm? thanks.

Do I need these inc files if I never used megatune? I'm using TunerStudio and connected to the mspnp configured by the previous owner and then did a save tune. Is there anything else I need to correctly setup TS?

Hello, Im on only day 2 of a first time megasquirt install and am slowly letting it autotune, the tips in this threat really do help, especially locking out the idle cells. I do have a weird issue i dont know how to fix: When i "tip in" to the throttle, whether i am tapping the gas when slowly pulling away from a stop sign, or matting it to the floor, i see my AFRs go off-the-scale lean for a half second (the WB02 gauge reads "---") before going back to normal. This is accompanied with a short delay in the power coming on, almost like a hesitation. What could this be? This did not happen with the factory ECU

Thanks for the help. The friend who helped me with the spark map said to avoid asking questions here lest i get yelled at for being new but i have faith
