18psi is one of the most helpful, knowledgeable people you would ever meet. That is why he is we love and respect him here.
I always laugh at how people whine when he gives them perfectly good advice.
The best is when he warns someone about danger to themselves in the future. Then when their **** blows up, 18psi's quote comes up and they claim he jinxed them.
Listen to 18psi "The Prophet" or suffer the consequences. Butt please don't bash our beloved friend because he doesn't tell you what you want to hear.
Lets put it this way... what are you most knowledgeable about? Lets say its My Little Pony. Imagine yourself to be a long time member in a MLP forum, who loves being in the brony community, even draws his own fan art and shares it with his pony peers. The only thing you dont like about this My Little Pony community is new members, that haven't even watched the show, are posting new threads, asking dumb questions about how to get to the second season, or whether or not pony friendship is, in fact, magic.
kinda wondered the same thing when I originally saw that posted
either
1) something is wrong with the mani/ewg and he wants to dump it into someone elses lap not disclosing the problem
2) he really did just get another turbo instead of trying to find the problem
or
3) he found the problem but too butthurt to follow up with the solution in this thread
Had family issue come up. I tried what you said brain.... still nothing. All my new turbo parts came in the mail so I ditched the t3 and I'm selling the manifold now.
Nothing wrong with the mani.. it's solid. And the wastegate doesn't leak and was tested. Practically just throwing in the wastegate because I don't need it. It's nothing special so I don't want to sell it seprertaely.
So I put the new Gt2871 in the car (internally gated). Still the same issue... No boost leaks. (tested system at 25psi) Now this smaller turbo is only making 1-2psi instaed of 4. Honestly I hope you make me look stupid by telling me its something simple! Here is a log I took. If anyone can help. I would appreciate it
I have a preloaded wastegate. (Which was checked today) The spring pressure is 7lbs. The car runs great but feels stock. I checked for leaks by hooking up a air compressor and fitting to the intake of the turbo with 25psi and sprayed with soapy solution.. and nothong. I had fixed all boost leaks previously... so doesn't surprise me.
This is a tricky thought experiment because you say you changed both the turbo AND the manifold. What would allow exhaust pressure to escape at such a rate, you'd build minimal boost?
You aren't blowing bubbles in your coolant are you?
Out of curiosity, have you done a leakdown test?
Did your fan kick on at 200 explaining a drop in coolant temps in 10 degrees in 5 seconds on throttle down.
Do you have a collapsed flex pipe in your exhaust (if it's the same one from the previous setup). Might be enough to run it like NA but choke under pressure.
