1990-2005 MS3x, DIYPNP, And MS3Module PNP Assembly!!

What's the major difference between MS-I and MS-II? I think I read something about processor speed? Worth the extra coin? I'll probably be pulling the trigger on one for my '95 soon, want to know whats up with the new stuff.

Has a few extra features, seems to drive smoother. it really depends on the application.
I'll be dynoing my MS-I box and my MS-II box on April 10th. Both at 10psi and 15psi with the same spark map, should be a good judge to see if the extra res = extra power.

Excellent...pretty sure I want to go MS2 regardless, but I'm curious to see what if any difference it makes.

I know right.
I'm almost as excited about this as Jeff's detcans.
Even if the numbers aren't that spectacular, I've talked to Scott about the driveability differences that almost make it worth the upgrade on their own.

It only seems to handle warmup better and has the PID Closed Loop boost control code.

We have seen a little power increase going to the MS2 from the MS1 processor, but that's not the real reason to get the MS2. The real reason I prefer MS2 over MS1 is the much greater feature set that MS2 is capable of which comes with minimal cost.

I'll definitely be interested to see. I'll be starting out NA but even if I do boost I probably won't need or use an ECU controlled EBC or anything like that, but if the driveability is better and if it makes more power I may spring for the MS2.

Hi
Id have a question, would you able to do one (with maps) that works with Fuji Racing ITB's (1.6 with header and cams)..

As you stated, you do this on your spare time, do you have alot on the plate right now? If I placed an order right now, when should I expect it to be shipped? I'm thinking about purchasing a unit..Honestly I don't know when my mspnp is coming back from diyautotune for repairs. So I'm considering picking one up and whenever I get my unit back I'll just sell it.

I am interested in 90-93 MS-II standalone and DIYPNP. I think I will buy either one.
What's the difference between Ms-II and DIYPNP? I am not quite sure.
Beside the Megasquirt, ATI sensor, Lc-1 Wideband. what else I need to get before the tuning. Any suggestions ?
My first turbo car:
90 1.6L Miata, Greedy td04, some Toda Cams kit(need to find out what model after I get the valve cover gasket),94-97 (tan) 265cc - #195500-2180, Vortech FMU, Manual boot controller.

Once purchased, I'd sell the 265cc injectors and FMU and buy 460-550cc injectors.
The DIY MS-II standalone is a kit I assemble completely and build a harness to make it PNP into the car. the DIYPNP is a new unit developed by diyautotune.com which is based around the stamped microsquirt board and you assemble the extra components and headerboard within the case to make it a PNP unit.

Thanks for the quick replay ~!
Just curious. Do I need to upgrade injectors before fine tune?
I thought 265 injectors are good enough for around 160hp car, about to send them out for service. That mean bigger injector is more reliable and more horsepower, or because the Toda cams ?
I can tune it anytime I wanted, like after I got intake cooler. Am I right ?
A million thanks ~

the MS takes full control over the fuel, 265c injectors are good for maybe 150rwhp without the FMU. There is no need for the FMU with the MS, so it's best to put in bigger injectors that will give you all the headroom you'd ever need. Why limit yourself in the beginning?
460cc injectors are cheap and plentiful and can support around 230-250rwhp.

That's true.
Any pacific spec on the 460cc injector?
or just get the Rx-7 injector. Purple top or Red top ?
what do you recommend?
Thanks again !

Ok so i'm confused. I understand there are difference in ms1/ms2, but what's the difference when you get to the PNP? I thought the "standalone" ones had basemaps loaded and pnp harnesses as well. What's the difference in:
90-95 Kit MS-I Standalone - $425 shipped
90-95 Kit MS-II Standalone - $515 shipped
94-95 DIYPNP - $570 shipped
*or show me where this is discussed, thanks
