i have a 97 escort gt long block with 98k on it sitting in garage was going to put it into my miata. but do not need it now. if you want to ship it ill trade ya for your wideband

Alrighty, sorry for the inconvenience but I am doing to give this another try. I sold one of my other cars to make some money available for a rebuild, and after removing the head I have determined that detonation was not the reason for the death of the motor, giving me a little confidence in my own skills.

Again, sorry to anyone that was waiting on parts, but I'm going to not quite give up on it yet.

Not sure he always responds quickly here, but he told me on the phone today that the rings had taken a hit. Looks like new rings might get him by.

Sure, no problem. I would suggest either doing the DIY PNP or MS2 with Abe's board.

I think it was oil related. While the car only had about 1.5K miles on the last oil change, that was about 9 months ago. I think running really rich at first and having some gas get past the rings into the oil broke down the oil. When we drained it the oil smelled like gas and felt like it had comparable lubricity to gasoline.
