Default Built 1.6l Engine, 1,820 miles

Located in Latrobe, PA 15650
No shipping at this time.
Asking prices:
Longblock with cooling and clutch $3000
Turbo kit with exhaust intercooler and piping $1,000
Transmission and rear end plus components $750
ECU $400

EDIT- $4000 will get you the whole setup besides the trans and rear diff.

Parts and price may fluctuate on what you want. Motor is still in the running car. I just finished my build in May, but some things have come up and my toy has to go. I'm having trouble selling the vehicle as a whole, so my only other option is to part it out.

This motor was machined at P&R Engine Re-builders in Greensburg, PA late 2014 with receipts to prove it ($1,200 worth). It was broken in properly, and then trailered to J-K Tuning in Newville, PA where it was Dyno tuned to 295hp and 220 tq on 18psi.

I will not pull a thing until I have a serious buyer interested; At which point you can come drive the car, know that it works correctly, and that you're getting what you paid for.

Details as follows:

ENGINE

-Media blasted, checked for cracks, head gasket surface cut and 3 angle valve job and assembly by P&R.

The ad is a little confusing. So $3500 for a turn key drive train ecu and turbo kit? If so it's a deal but it maybe better to break it up longblock, turbo setup, drive train? Just my .02

Sorry the ad is so confusing. The reason being is it depends on what all parts someone wants. I will update it with better pricing today.

You want 3K for a 1.6 and really need to ask if it's out of line?

Other dude was right, $3500 for all would be a better starting point.

Other sources told me that it's fair considering its a brand new build with less than 2,000 miles. I have probably 4-5 into the motor itself. 3,500 for the entire setup and driveline seems like a steal.

A steal is what it's going to take to move a 1.6 setup.

Serious question: Why would one put all of this money and effort into a 1.6 vs a 1.8? Smoother reving? Lighter weight? I am not trying to start a flame war, just trying to educate myself. I have an M45 supercharged 1.6, and have wondered what my options are if I want to significantly increase my power.

You need to start reading and not harass for sale threads.

To answer your question seriously,
This entire build sort of got out of hand by accident. I wanted to originally just refresh the stock motor and add some boost. Well then I decided to build it and basically the motor can handle so much more than what it makes. If I were to continue with my car I would redo the entire turbo setup. Probably go with a full vband Borg Werner setup from Fab9.

Thanks - that's kinda what I figured. Sounds like a nice engine to me, but I know that most people who have experience or have done a bunch of reading would question why start with a 1.6 instead of 1.8. Except brainzata, cuz I guess he knows everything, even if he did get up on the wrong side of the bed before posting the above comment.

I'd be interested, if I had the money, and time...

Cleary your feelings get hurt easily. I'm sorry, there was no intent of being a know it all, I am not the most experienced or knowledgeable person on the forum. What I do know are the guide lines for threads. This is a for sale thread that will get all messed up if people start asking questions not related to simply purchasing items. Is this your first time on a forum? If not you should know, your supposed to save your questions for proper threads, after you spend YOUR time on Google searching the questions you have. Make sense?

Point taken about a for sale thread, but I wanted to hear this seller's perspective on what he is selling. As you know there are varying opinions on building a 1.6 vs 1.8 for this power range, and as this seller did the less popular choice I felt his views would be interesting to hear, and would inform myself and other potential buyers more about what he is selling.

Hope you enjoy the long weekend.

Fact Building a 1.6 just means you like a challenge and have bigger ***** then someone compensating with a bp! I as Well built a bit similar setup with Webb cams.
