Ebay cheap: intercooler and lots of piping - 5 hours to go

eBay Motors: Probe V6 GT Mazda V6 Turbo Intercooler FMIC Kit Front (item 110344194710 end time Feb-04-09 16:25:44 PST)

Though it's for a probe/mx6/626, it looks like the IC will fit if that's overall size AND that's a lot of mandrel bends for the price, even if it's mild steel- ad doesn't say.

it seriously does look like it would fit minimal effort. heck the hotside pipes look nearly identical to mine.

too bad it's all 2.5" piping. but not a bad little kit for $150.

Other than the coldside, it looks great.

Doesn't look like a long enough radius in the bend to go around the radiator and condenser and still have room for airflow behind it. Could be wrong though.

Yes- so all that for $70 total. I think that's a steal. A few cuts and couplers could make this work in a Miata IMO. Oh- and that intercooler has some nice shaped end tanks on it for the core shape.

Whoever picked that up, looks like a pretty good deal...just cut, some couplers, and bam. FMIC.

I picked it up...but before seeing that ridiculous shipping fee.

Either way it still comes out to $70, and I've got more to work with.

This is certainly a lot easier than chasing down whatever I might be missing on a 14yr old kit.

I imagine a little cutting and coupling will definitely make it work.

I'd prefer 3" pipes that aren't ceramic coated.

But, for the price that last one went for.... It would be hard to pass up.

Considering that what I have now is 1.75", this will be an upgrade. I didn't plan on doing it for a few months when I upgraded the compressor, but I'll admit it was an impulse buy.

I ended up picking one of these up for $71 shipped.

Arrived with a piece of crap, dented, 3" inlet/outlet, tube & fin intercooler.

Complained to the seller, no response to two emails over four days. Filed paypal dispute, that got his attention.

The replacement intercooler arrived today. It's perfect, 2.5" inlet/outlet, bar & plate- same as in auction picture. Cancelled the dispute.

It also came with a pair of 2.5" silicone couplers; nice bonus.

Took some battling, but it's a great value.

I am currently working on the same battle.

Hopefully he will start shipping them right the first time.

did you have to return the dented IC?

Post up some pics when you get around to the install.

Probably because you're going to get a POS intercooler shipped to you, then have to battle with them to get the right one sent to you.
