I'm capping the list off as of right now. I just cant make these fast enough. I'm going to focus on finishing off this list and then after that I'll look into making more.
If you are already on the list or have PMd me, I'm currently at about 20/60. I'm going to work as quickly as I can to get to the end of the list (which I will try to tidy up tonight). I'll be PMing Paypal info either tonight or tomorrow morning.

The one enclosed in the picture is the one I made. Its very interesting your setup, I do prefer that mine has a cable with the jack at the end which can have it in the glove box or velcro inside the cabin, so its a matter of plug and play similar to an MP3 input.
Like many state an on/off swith must have been great and maybe somehow enclose the battery or secure it better, like on the autospeed link or the Whisper.
It does work, but of course it depends where it is located. It is recommended far away from the rad fan unless thats one wants to hear. At least in the setup I have the vintage headphones are still been used, so there is no need to use super hi-tech Headset, I bet yours is very similar in performance and results.
Its cool that you have done a groupbuy about this, this little gadget that I got was mentioned once in ANOTHER forum and people were making fun that it was ghetto etc, and to see people here have jump into the bandwagon is cool.
I usually put the alligator clips over the Oil sensor as it is pretty wide and has a good grip, holds well for weeks. I sometimes forget I got it on the engine bay til I see the input jack on the glove compartment.

I'm still using these, which is good since I've make so many changes and chased down so many problems recently. I uninstalled my water injection last week, and went back through my timing map to make sure everything was still safe without the meth...good to go.
Alligator clips is still in place on the motor mount bolt I placed it on a month ago. Actually scared me when I was swapping injectors and one fell, hiding somewhere. The red on that clip really jumped out at me, but unfortunately I looked for the red injector for another 20min before finding it wedged between the starter, block and oil pressure sensor.
The box itself has not left my center console. I just unplug the audio out (radio aux in) cable and put it in my iPod when I want music, and switch back when I go to do some hard pulls or datalogging.

Interested in hearing from more users about the performance... Anybody done some audio recording so they can share? perhaps a sweep over the entire RPM?
Jeff, after reading the autospeed article where they take a sound amplifier and modify it to make it into a knock sensor (det can)... Have you considered trying modifying one of those "listen up as seen on TV" things, and see if they work similar to your already proven design? They can be had for $10, and you only need to modify the microphone by putting it in the clip and extending the cable... Maybe I am insulting you by just mentioning this, but if it works, you can improve your delivery time, and still add value doing the modifications...
Thanks!

I got mine the other day. I haven't tried it on the car yet, but I showed a bunch of guys down at the shop and we used it as a spy ear. lol
Thanks Jeff! The unit looks legit and I cant wait to hook it up and tune my shitz.

Anybody has been able to record the device in action, other than the idle recordings?
Jeff, how are you doing with the orders?
Thanks!

Everyone that has paid should be receiving theirs shortly, I'm dropping the last few in the mail today.
I'm going to continue to offer these, but I'm not going to accept payment on unfinished orders anymore. It isn't fair to the customer, and it causes too much stress to me to be on a deadline when I have a ton of **** going on at my 'real' job and I'm trying to finish my own car up. I'll probably just start offering them up in batches every week or two.

Jeff
You might to PM Brain and see if you could get this thread made into a sticky. This seems like one of the items that could in the future be built to order kind of like Brains MS and Olderguys o2 clamps.

Other possibilities
Hey the other day I looked at one of the music players that is no longer in use in my moms house (Old CD players and karaoke) and realized it had a mic input and the usual headphones output... I took apart most of what is not needed, and now I have a system where I can easily hear what the mic is producing....
My only problem right now is that I need to replace the power source from the wall plug to the cigarrette lighter! I think I can make this work!
I was looking to get some help from you guys... What would be the easy way to convert the wall plug to cigarrette lighter? how to make the 12V into 120v and 60hz?
The other option is running the mic from the engine to the car's input jack (iPod, MP3) and you can hear it through you car's speakers... Of course you can't filter out outside noise, but It could be done...
Those who already have the unit Jeff prepared so well, can you try and plug your mic into the car's MP3 player input and see if you can hear anything like you do now with the earbuds?
Thanks!
