FREE: All my stuff
UPDATE: I've gotten a ****-ton of PMs already. Round 1 will be this weekend, and then I'll update the list. Until then, please hold off sending me any more PMs.
Location: Carlsbad, CA (northern San Diego county- the good part.)
Cost: Nothing.
Shipping: Yeah, right. Bring a van. A big one.
I need to get rid of a few things- mostly every single thing that I own, minus a chair that I like, a couple of tools, my sandwich press, and a few other odds and ends. Some of it is Miata-related, most isn't. I'm rebooting, and I need to flush the cache.
I'm not going to post really comprehensive descriptions, mostly because I don't want to put the effort into it. Pictures follow, with a brief summary.
The catch: you tell me what you want, and I tell you what other **** you have to take along with it. Don't even think of showing up in a Miata- I'm going to load you down with more crap than you want.
In exchange for this, I ask for nothing. I mean, if you're feeling guilty about ripping me off then you can bring a bottle of 18 year old single-malt Scotch or some really good microbrewed beer (I'm fond of Belgians, Sours, and hard-core Stouts / Porters, but I'm always open to new things.) Note that I will hit you in the face with a 1/2" breaker bar (pictured below) if you try to convince me that Sam Adams Boston Lager is "really good microbrewed beer," however I DO acknowledge that some of their small batch / limited release stuff is shockingly good. I really want to try their American Kriek, but I have yet to find it anywhere.
The list:
Complete '99 engine, all torn down and cleaned, neatly packaged in labeled boxes. Includes all accessories, a couple of exhaust manifolds, M-tuned rods (new), 8.6:1 pistons (new) and some other random **** like an intake manifold from a Subaru Forester, an intake manifold from a 1.6 Miata, and I think there's another intake manifold somewhere as well. Also includes front wiring harness from a '99, a gasket kit, two new water pumps, timing belt kit, and some other crap. Also includes shelf:
UPDATE: I've had about ten people PM me about the engine, so it's definitely spoken for. I've also had a couple of cash offers for the pistons and rods, so I'm gonna pull those and sell 'em separately.
Benchtop drill-press, about four years old, works great. Includes the bench it's sitting on and all the other **** on the bench (several cheap torque wrenches, several breaker bars, some hammers, and some other stuff I can't remember. Also the lamp, the level, well, pretty much everything you see in the picture except the fire extinguisher.
Compressor. Harbor Freight, about ten years old, still runs like new. Not very powerful (120v), but works for simple ****. Also includes a pair of cheap impact wrenches (3/8" and 1/2"), a cheap HLVP gun, some random fittings, a regulator / drier, tire inflater, etc.
Bookshelf stereo (yes, it has two speakers), plus a bunch of random chemicals and they shelf they're sitting on. Tap & die set, some leather gloves, yadda yadda. Cordless drill not included:
A bunch of corded power tools. Angle grinder, random orbit sander, big-*** power sander, jigsaw, belt sander (not shown). You can also have the bicycle wheel and the half-empty can of acetone.
Set of four OEM 14x6 semi-hollow-spoke wheels, plus the old, dry-rotted all-season tires that are on them. The wheels are nearly perfect, the tires are so bad that you'll die almost immediately if you drive on them. Also HF floor jack (3,000 lb capacity), plus four cheap jackstands (not shown):
Ramps, transmission from a Subaru Forester:
Random air and water hoses and other crap, plus the wall-hangey-thingeys.
Engine hoist and stand. Harbor Freight's finest:
Really small turbo. TD04L. Beer shown for scale, not included:
Box of random crap that the turbo was sitting on (fuel pumps, hoses, fittings, etc.) There's a matching pink box out in the garage- they're a set.
The most comfortable sofa ever created. This thing is ugly as hell and is at least 25 years old. I stole it out of the 3rd floor lounge of the Fletcher Hall dorm at the University of Florida in 1996 because I liked it so much. Several children have been conceived on this sofa, however it is relatively stain-free and it doesn't smell very much. Has a small tear in one of the armrest cushions. I am not shitting you when I say that this is the most comfortable sofa in the entire universe- it's like having your whole body caressed by a thousand fuzzy tongues:
Not shown:
55" flat-screen TV. "Flat" as in the screen is flat. The TV itself is two feet deep and floor-standing. 3 tube rear-projection, 4:3. Capable of 1080, but on component only (no HDMI or any of that highfalutin' nonsense.) Built in 2000, still runs like a ******* champ and looks better (to me) than any LED / LCD / DLP / Plasma bullshit.
Random computers: A couple of tablets, maybe a laptop or two... Nothing newer than a P3. I think there's also an Amiga 500 in here somewhere.
Beer bottles: If you homebrew, I have several boxes of non-screwtop bottles, all clean and neatly packed away in boxes. Mostly 12oz, some biggies. Most still have old labels attached.
**** I'd actually like to get some money for:
Hardtop. Early model without defogger. This thing is in damn near perfect shape. It's been re-painted, but you have to *really* look closely to see a few little bits of overspray on the trim strip. Has absolutely zero chips / scratches / etc. Includes hoist. Make an offer (and don't be a jackass):
Overspray (there are a couple spots like this):
3.636 ring & pinion. Pulled from an old 626 in a junkyard. Shippable: $150 plus actual shipping cost. Pictures in this thread: https://www.miataturbo.net/suspensio...636-r-p-39012/ First reply IN THIS THREAD gets it. (my inbox is ******* exploding right now.)

How fast do you need this gone? I'd like the engine stuff but probably couldn't drive out until later this weekend. I'd also take whatever else you want that I could fit in whatever vehicle I bring. Oh and computers

No problem, I've got until the end of July before the bell tolls. I'll be around Sunday, Saturday will probably be busy.
Yeah. I'm serious about the van thing. You want the '99 engine, you're getting all the Subaru crap too if nobody else calls it. And whatever else I feel like piling on top of whatever vehicle you bring. (I have lots of tie-down straps, and I don't give a **** whether I crush the roof of your vehicle by throwing a transmission onto it.)

I know I'm super grateful. Wish I knew more about microbrews... anyone have some suggestions Joe might like? Or Joe any specific requests? I'm too newb in that field to make a decision on my own.

Wow. Quite a lot of PMs.
(******* cheap-*** vultures...)
I'm a bit too tired to sift through them all tonight. I'll get back to everyone (in order) tomorrow.

Bear in mind, however, these are not iPads / Androids. We're talking late-90s vintage stuff. They're both Pentium-2/3 class machines. One has 64 megabytes of RAM, the other has 128.
That's MEGAbytes, not GIGAbytes.
They'll run MegaTune or the Greddy EMU software, but forget about watching videos or playing Angry Birds.
Cheapskates smell blood.
(Except that I have no intention of buying another Beetle. Horrid little cars. Maybe a van, though... Anybody wanna trade me a full-size van for my '90 Miata?)
