For you Brain, wastegate wired open I know it starts from a pretty high rpm I can try again tomorrow if you like, but I want to increase the preload a bit more for now.
It won't seem to creep past 11 psi, I have to admit I don't usually push past 6500 rpm.

Regards,
Carlos

The new turbo that I ordered recommended by Braineack is now at my local fedex store. I should be picking it up this afternoon and I will take some pictures to see the differences between it and the ones I shipped out.

Can't wait to see how the new turbos compare.
That wheel looks close enough to work, just like Brain said. It's nice to know there are so many interchangeable parts for this setup.

your china wheel more closely resembled the garret than mine:

the china wheel i had, the blades stopped at same point, there wasnt that staggeredness. interesting.

So today I received this turbo to try out. Brianeack suggested this one as it looked most like the one he had including the 2 port wastegate. It is being compared to this one which is what I shipped with the group buy. Specs say they will be close so lets do some comparisons.

Here they are right next to each other. The one on the right is the new one. It does not have a dual port wastegate and overall looks identical to the other one.

Compressor housings. The only difference I can find is the model number on the new one is slightly different.

Exhaust housing.

Compressor wheels. Lower one is the new turbo.

Exhaust wheels. Lower one is the new turbo.

The compressor inducer is 42.3mm on both, exducer is 60.0mm on both.
The exhaust inducer is 46mm on both, and exducer is 63.3mm on both.

So both turbos are exactly the same. I have a third from a different vendor currently on one of my cars. When I take that car apart I will measure it also.

Just did a new pressure test with the t3 gasket. Only leaks in one spot at the bolt hole. Easily fixed with a little high temp sealer.

I case anyone else wanted the gasket. turbos_r_us is the eBay seller. I also bought the wheel from them as well.

The only difference I really noticed between the two wheels is the Garretts fins were slightly thicker on the edges. In the pics you can somewhat see this.

Here is my latest log in 3rd gear from 2k to 6.5k creeping to almost 13psi with 10 half turns of preload on the WGA. Will reference my boost post IC after I post a better log with my WG wired open.

It is very responsive and extremely fun to drive

I'm a tight ***, can't you tell by the way I don't rev my **** high enough. I ported it the size of my tiny bunghole, no wonder it's too small
