PSA-

The WJB hubs on rockauto use a non oem stud with a non oem knurl diameter of 0.501". So these hubs will have to drilled out to accomodate the is300 arp studs, and that adds a machining step, which adds cost. Conversely, ordering the other brand rockauto carries that have the correct diamter costs the same additional amount as the additional machining, but I prefer to start with a fesh hole. Who doesnt right?

So, final pricing for the first group buy assuming nothing chages in my "supply chain":

-Hubs base price of $165 shipped for a pair
-Add a pair of timken bearings for $50
-Add ARP studs, installed for $80

Ading bearings and studs will not effect shipping.

I should have the first five or so sets done today or tomorrow and as soon as the material for the outer washer gets here, ill knock those out and start sending them out. Ive had a terrible time getting materials lately, so thanks for everyone's patience. Ill be sending pms for payment soon.

Sounds like you're saying if we're not getting ARP then it won't be machined and we'll need to deal with enlarging the hole ourselves when its time to upgrade. Just wanted to confirm that.

 

That's correct, unless I find an off the shelf ARP stud that works, but I haven't had a chance to look yet.

A 35/64" drill works perfectly for the IS300 studs. Doing it by hand with a twist drill would not be fun.

 

Okay thanks. I wouldn't trust even my Harbor Freight drill press to accurately enlarge these holes straight enough. I'll change my order to include ARP as well if there is no suitable replacement.

That said, seems the NA6 kit ( 100-7719 ) uses a 0.507 knurl diameter that might work ?

Will these studs be the 2.750" underhead length?

 

Unless I'm mistaken you can push it a couple thousandths oversized in the stud, so .507 miata studs would work in .501 hubs? alternatively the late model GM .509 studs?

 

No the WJB stud its self measures 0.501", not the hole. The hole is something around 0.485". 8-12ish thou is appropriate for a knurl press in the range of diameters we are discussing, 20 thou over is really pushing it.

Portabull im not sure what you are referring to. The under head length of the ARP studs I am shipping in the hubs is 2.6".


Edit- just went through the ARP catalog and the miata 0.507" knurl size stud is the closest they offer.

 

 

So, uh, 295 shipped? That's not bad for a guarantee of not dying when your wheel flies off.

How often do these have to be serviced? Assume no hoosiers.

 

I think its fair to say that the hubs will last, and you will have to replace the bearings when they go bad.

These work on an MSM still right? I am pretty sure the hubs are the same and axle difference is only at the differential connection.
