For torture testing, it would be nice to see these tested in a full bodied (heavy), 300+whp turbo car running Hoosiers on the track. ...or just send them to Bundy and if another transmission breaks first, we can stamp them bulletproof...

Got a rough estimate how much a rebuild kit will cost?

The contents of a rebuild kit could vary widely, so there's no simple answer to your question. Variables would include:

* model year
* mileage
* actual condition of internals upon inspection
* current power level
* planned power level
* type of racing

Please email me at Bill@MiataRoadster.com with your details and I'll put together a quote for you.

Thanks,

Bill

My 10AE is just a tad under 300, very heavy, and I have plenty of hohos. I got the MSM rear for it due to the MSM's (slightly) larger rear axles. Puddymod built that diff.

I just realized that I might be in basic/AIT when these are shipped out. So I may need someone to babysit mine for me, haha.

The 3.3 will fit S2000 also, though probably not a desirable ratio.

payment sent. After looking at the 6 speed 3.3 combo on the gear calculator i wonder if this combo will hurt the 6 speed due to the added stress. i have blown the 5 speed when shifting to second and once in 3rd. I wonder since we have just turned the 6 speed ratios much the same as the 5 speed if there will be a reduction in the ability for the 6 speed to hold the power. any thoughts??? for those blowing 6 speeds did you have the 3.6 combo ?? i have personally seen a 6 speed get abused with flat shifting and the boost at 20 psi 300whp and it held up fines for many drag races. they had a 4.10 rear ratio tho.

Of course it will put more stress on the transmission. Whether it will blow as easily as the 5sp with the new "similar" gearing is actually a good question too, and one I've been pondering.

No idea of course until someone tries it, but I'm guessing its a very good possibility. I know the 6 has a stronger case and other strength improvements, but its still not a huge leap above the 5 overall and IMO the super close/short gearing was one of the bigger contributors to its higher torque capacity
