When I switch over to sequential and crank fire will the entire tune have to be redone?

Reverant 10-04-2013 10:12 AM

Maybe below 2k-2.5k rpm.

Rev, any updates on my ms2? I haven't heard back from you since 9/2/13 and i am getting a little worried about the lack of response.

Reverant 10-04-2013 10:23 AM

It has been shipped to my US distributor. Once there, you'll have your individual tracking number.

Great that will make things easier down the road.

Once I figure out how to generate a NB cam signal using the NA CAS drive I will be in business. My current thoughts are to use the 01+ trigger wheel off the intake cam and adapt it to the exhaust cam through a gutted NA CAS. Then fit a NB cam sensor to read it.

so... knock an extra tooth off the trigger wheel and run 1.3 alpha for full sequential?

Reverant 10-05-2013 02:54 AM

No, you need to make your wheel exactly like the FM wheel.

k24madness 10-09-2013 12:28 AM

My MS3 Basic is DOA. I am not having any luck getting the MS3 basic to fire the fuel pump. I also can't see it with tuner studio. Anyone have tips on trouble shooting a new install? When we swap the prior MSPNP1 back in everything works fine.

THIA

Reverant 10-09-2013 01:36 AM

Emailed.

Its been two weeks and i haven't received any tracking information/updates. When i ordered from headlights from Jass in Athens , it took four days for it to reach the u.s.

You quoted me a delivery date of 45 days, its been 75 since i paid. I understand you are busy and things dont always go according to planned ... but the lack of communication honestly sucks. Im not asking you to overnight it to me or anything but this is getting frustrating not knowing whats going on.

Reverant 10-17-2013 02:17 PM

Your ECU is with the distributor right now in CA and I'm waiting for a tracking number from him.

Please understand that these ECUs are built to order, not a stocked product.

On top of that, as a registered business, I have to jump through several loops of red tape when exporting out of the EU so that you guys don't pay the 23% tax other europeans customers have to.

The person you bought the Jass products from is not a business, so he does not have these limitations.

I'm sorry about this, I'll ask the distributor what's up.

If you want me to forward you the UPS tracking number (Greece -> CA) to verify my claim, I can do that.

Dimitris

JerseyKid 10-17-2013 03:19 PM

i know the ecu was built to order . i understood that going in. i did not know about about 23% tax and all the shipping issues. i would assume jass performance was a registered business and would ship like you do.i apologize for assuming that but atleast this clears things up a bit. thats all i wanted was some communication.

Reverant 10-17-2013 03:22 PM

Jass Performance is not a Greek company. You probably bought from a person that does this under the table.

JerseyKid 10-17-2013 08:49 PM

Well regardless of jass's situation as a business, please let me know as soon as you can what your distributor says about getting the ecus shipped out.

Hungry-R 10-18-2013 09:44 AM

I'd also like to get my tracking # as soon as its available, Thank you!

Reverant 10-19-2013 01:28 PM

Tracking numbers sent. :)

JerseyKid 10-21-2013 05:46 PM

Received my ECU today! Thanks again rev, btw just sent you a PM .

joyrider 10-26-2013 02:55 AM

Can MS3 basic send data to IQ3 dash display with the optional module from racepack ?

I want to simplify the car, ditch gauges and set alarms, get actual data with a quick look while you can on track.

Reverant 10-26-2013 04:14 AM

2 Attachment(s)
It should, here is mine, using the CAN bus connection (not serial):

Love it.

I am looking for the place in TunerStudio to control VICS on my MS3-Basic (99-00 version), but do not see anything.

Any help on this?

DNMakinson 12-02-2013 09:55 PM

How to set up Limp Mode(s) using TS?

How does one set up or test limp modes on MS3 using TunerStudio?

I see the CAN-bus/Testmodes, but don't see how to access most of the functions.

Note: I am OFFLINE. If I just need to be synced, then I'll figure this one out.

Reverant 12-03-2013 02:28 AM

Serial number of ECU?

Test modes are not available offline or while the engine is running.

Thanks

Reverant 04-01-2014 12:50 PM

I think you can PM vendors even with 0 posts. At least people in the past were able to.

Good to know. Excuse my ignorance

G. Jay 04-01-2014 01:49 PM

Hi Reverant,

In the SCCA Solo STS class we are allowed to adapt in a stand-alone controler but we are not able to add any sensors. We must use the AFM and throttle switch and can't add a MAP sensor.

Can your MS3 or some version of it work with this? Several others are working the same idea. There's a thread on the question here.

For me personally I need an STS compliant solution but would also like to some day put in an NB2 VVT engine or KLDE V6 (fully sequential). I'm wondering whether this can all be supported with a customized MS3 based solution.

Thanks.

Jay

I am on the same boat on my MS3 basic, tuner studio has all the VVT setting options but nothing for VICS that I can find. Did you end up using one of the programable outputs and runing a wire from DB-37 to the oem harness?
Thanks

Reverant 04-12-2014 11:31 AM

It's already controlled through InjH.

HHammerly 04-12-2014 11:58 AM

Great, now I know where to look.
Thanks!!!

It should be working now once again.

Let me know if it doesn't.

Oscar 04-22-2014 05:25 PM

Does that mean the enhanced ms3 is out now or did I miss something?

Reverant 04-22-2014 05:26 PM

Its more of a chart for those people asking if its worth waiting. I show them the chart, and ask them to be the judge if it is worth the wait.

Oscar 04-22-2014 05:30 PM

Gotcha. Eta? If it's 3+ years, I can wait ;)

Reverant 04-22-2014 05:31 PM

94-95?

Oscar 04-22-2014 05:35 PM

94 chassis, 01 motor/sensors.

Reverant 04-22-2014 05:38 PM

I will probably not have a pnp model for that year (94-95 chassis and harness) due to low demand. I will have a universal version though which you can either wire in with a new harness or you can make an adapter harness.

Oscar 04-22-2014 05:42 PM

I do have spare 94 harness and ecu connectors if that's any help. Full PnP is worth an extra $50 to me, but we'll get to that when the time's there.

Low demand?

Really?

Reverant 04-27-2014 10:12 AM

The 96-97 is the least popular year, followed by the 94-95.

Amellrotts 04-30-2014 09:13 PM

Am I understanding this correctly? The CEL light that my MS3 Basic is giving me could actually be telling me of a fault code? I think I remember that the CEL light will come on if my coolant temps get over 210? But since I just replaced my water pump was letting the car warm up I don't feel like that is why the CEL light is on.

Reverant 05-01-2014 03:15 AM

Yes. These are basic codes though. Usually one of the following: crank/cam sensor, CLT, TPS, IAT, MAP or battery/charging.

Open TunerStudio to see which one it is.

El_Diablo 07-06-2014 12:02 AM

Reverent, I'm very interested in getting a PNP megasquirt system for my 04 MSM. Is there another way to contact you other than PM? I'm unable to PM and don't have much time to post. Please feel free to PM me with an email address or phone number.

Thanks!

Ryephile 07-21-2014 11:04 PM

I just put my order in with Reverant for an MS3 Basic. I'm really looking forward to seeing how I can improve the tuning versus the MSPNP gen1 I have now.

EErockMiata 07-22-2014 12:33 AM

I just got my car up and running on an ms labs ms3 basic. I honestly knew nothing about tuning or megasquirt when I ordered this thing. Through reading the megamanual and through rev answering my stupid questions the car is now up and running and better than ever. Fired up on the first turn of the key.

Couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. Dyno results incoming tomorrow in my build thread.

TheCowGod 07-23-2014 12:43 PM

Hi, Reverant. I'm very interested in your MS3 Basic for my '99. But, like others above, I'm newly registered and can't PM yet. If you'd like to PM me an email address or phone number, I'd love to talk to you about it and find out more details. Thanks!

whitrzac 07-23-2014 06:09 PM

Has there been any luck getting a RPM based AC turnoff?

Schuyler 07-23-2014 06:16 PM

I don't have my laptop with TS handy at the moment, but I'm pretty sure the current version of the ms3x firmware has an rpm cutoff in the a/c idle-up settings.

Just TPS and VSS shutoff...

They said they added it to the latest firmware. I haven't had time to check it out.
