so the CEL light can basically be programmed as a limit indicator for pretty much anything right? this is pretty cool. are there any other lights on the dash that can be programmed that way?

Only the CEL and the battery light are accessible from the ECU harness.

And these two are currently not programmable in my current gen of ECUs, but they are in the next gen per my teaser pictures in the other thread.

Dunno how feasible this is but would you be able to implement some form of a stop/start system?

Only takes 10 seconds of idling or so to make it worth it, I.e. fuel required to restart is less than 10 secs of idling.

Feasible, but again, requires rewiring.

What is this start/stop system you speak of?

Would any of the racing crew be interested in GPS support?

I am guessing that you will need some sort of antenna for it? I think it would be a great feature as long as it does not add to much to the cost.

Support will be in the form of a serial port, accepting any external GPS, and then grabbing the GPS data in the datalog.

GPS initiated Table switching then (e.g. curve and straight maps)

Well the idea is that I may be able to convice Phil Tobin (aka TunerStudio creator) to add track mapping using GPS data.

My speed 3 had a flat foot shift feature. I loved it. It set a low rev limiter at say 5500 when I pressed the clutch in at WOT. No trans grinds, stays in boost. Just easier on the car. Cobb ap had it.

Lets just make an contribution to the wishlist...

I think most of my wishes are more of a software thing... (because I can't keep up with this amazing hardware stuff anyway...)

- Because I am an lazy *** bastard - I would want autotuning or better said autoadjusting MAT corrections - I find it difficult to get them spot on (and as I have a very limited time for tinkering with my car.)

- Less settings for idle - more of an auto-adjusting idle. Maybe an automated test mode for the idle valve limits and settings...

- Auto-adjusting accel/deccel enrichments...

Something that has been flying about recently is long term learning - regarding the VE table particularly.

I.E. the ECU will log EGO values at certain RPM / load points and will 'learn' where it needs to make adjustments to the VE table to lower EGO in that area having seen EGO at or over X percent X times.

I'm aware it's primarily a firmware change, but it could concievably need hardware to support it, with an onboad SD card with the MS3 we have the storage for the data already...

Short-term and long-term fuel trimming are on my to-do list.

My circuit that automatically compensates for changing injector dead-time with battery voltage and temperature!

BTW re: long-term trim, you may want to put at least 4 values, light load (idle), heavy load (full boost), low RPM (1000), and high RPM (6000)!

There will be a proper map for the fuel trim. Emailing you on the circuit.
