Default I think I may have fried my ignitor

so i had my car running with the base map on megasquirt. Then i ran into some trouble were i would load up my msq file and it would say there is a comflict between the controlller file type and the one from megasquirt. it said that "this is usually a very serious problem" then it sad that the file recieved from controller was ">boot....." "terminate megasquirt now?" i hit no by mistake and now the car wont start and it doesnt seemt o recognize the megasquirt at all now. could i have fried the megasquirt? when i turn the key now the car canks but doenst fire. is there a test i can do to see if it fried either the ecu or ignitor? i should of just left well enough alone. . also when i tried to reload my firmware, it said that the download failed, the exact same thing happened here:

If you are upgrading from standard Megasquirt code you will need to
use the boot jumper soon. If you are upgrading from Megasquirtnspark,
DualTable, MegasquirtnEDIS or an earlier MSnS-extra this program
will do it for you.
.
If you are unsure then press Y to quit - press Q
.

.
. Please read the README file!!!
.
Are you upgrading from standard Megasquirt code [Y,N,Q]?N
.
This should count up to 1700+ lines
.
src\download.exe -c2 msns-extra.s19
MS Download 1.10
Download failed:
Expected response "
Boot>",
but received this "".
Press any key to continue . . .

im almost positive its because of my ******* vista laptop. my concern now though is getting the thing running, or fixed

you're not using a boot jumper.
