mspnp help in new york city
i guess it time to finally ask for some help here on the boards. i brought my mspnp for a 90 miata when it first come out. i installed it on the car and ran into trouble with it, but never really had time to try to fix it. my problem i'm not sure if it pertains to the mspnp but just asking for some help now. the car starts but it does not really wanna run proper. the other problem that i'm having is that there is gas all over the place. i have gas blowing out of the exhaust and spitting out from the turbo. seems like its not being burned completely. would anybody be kind enough to give me some advice here.

+1 to the wideband sounds like it's just running stupidly rich.
If you go to Basic Settings -> Engine Constants 1, what do you have for "Required Fuel"? There is a calculation for it next to the number, put in the specs of your car/injectors/afr (the manual recommends you enter 12.7 for AFR). Maybe it wasn't recalibrated for the big injectors or something.

I would ditch the walbro and use the stock pump. Plus, not being the master of the obvious here, but your fueling is totally out of wack. What is your REQ Fuel? Did you adjust that for your 550's? Does it still have the factory setting that it is shipped with? Post your VE Table.

i do have a wideband and it is reading lean. but i doubt that is the case with all the fuel that it is blowing out. i already went through the require fuel setting and set then for the 550's. i am not quite sure if the walbro is causing it though. cause i also have a fpr that i adjusted for factory pressure. but who knows it might be the cause of it. anybody have a stock fuel pump looking to trade for a walbro. just any info is helpful right now.

sorry guys for bring back his thread, but since i finally have time to start working on the car again. i notice that cylinders 1 & 3 are not firing at all. when i went to change out the plugs 2 & 4 are fine, but 1 & 3 look like they are brand new. should i try changing out the plug wires? any help be really appreciated.

it shouldn't be a 93 CA emission's motor. cause when my original motor blew. i got a donor motor from a friend that works at a motor yard. i'm sure its a early 90's motor cause of the short woodruff key. i'm guess its a fried ignitor. hey Paul i'm not sure if you remember me, but i meet you once in Jersey when you came by my friends shop to try to help me get my car running. thanks for coming by that time. it seems like you are that closet person to nyc with the most knowledge of the mspnp. if you have time maybe you could come down to nyc and see if you could help out, im located in flushing, queens. right off of the whitestone. if you do come down dinners on me. also wouldn't mind a ride on the machine, haven't been in a miata for so long missed that feeling, specially a 311rwhp one.

Year of motor matters now- it's year of car that matters. The '93 CA cars had 4 channel injector wiring.
Look at your ECU harness. See the big yellow and yellow / black wires towards the end of the larger of the two connectors? At the very end, two pins over, are there also a large green and green/white wires? If so, you have a 4 channel car.
Where in the city are you?

the car is a 90, the motor im actually not sure what year it is. but it was not a 93 CA motor. i think it was a JDm motor cause it had a sticker in japanese with the mileage written on it in KM. im in college point queens, right by the whitestone bridge
