Default Purchased a NA miata with MS1 PNP (Very Green)

OK. I got a '95 miata with a frankenstien turbo kit and a Ms1. when I bought the car the old owner had told me that the car would backfire sometimes and that it was because the car was tuned rich because it still had the stock injectors. Ok now to my first question.I have the bigger 460cc injectors to install and I bought a DB9 to USB and downloaded Megatuner and Tunerstudio and I don't know why I'm not connecting to the program. I'm flying blind and I need a idiot guide to do the simple task of getting connected. Excuse my ignorance any help would be great .

set bud rate to 9600 and also make sure your com ports match between the computer and megasquirt. check in device manager for computer com port. probably obvious but car has to be running or key on for the megasquirt to get power. if you still can't get it to work after all that you may not have a compatible USB to serial converter.

Thanks for the reply boosted escort. My bud rate was set at 9600 but I could not find a way to find and pick port 2 in device manager but I was able to run a port check and found port 4 was available. So switch to port 4 and Success I'm connected. OK now for my next question. The car also has a Innovate LC-1 wideband O2 and its obviously connected to the guage because I'm getting the reading but I suspect it is not connected to MS1 because I checked under exhaust gas settings and it was set to run on narrow band and I'm getting no reading at all from Tunerstudio. I know the LC-1 has 2 optional outputs and one of those outputs needs to be connected to the ECU. I plan on tracing the wires soon but I need to know were this output needs to be connected to MS1. Thanks

baud, not bud.

Connect the LC-1's 0-5v reference line into the stock narrow band wiring on the engine harness. This goes back into the MS at one of the two factory plugs. There is a middle plug, which you can buy from DIYautotune for interesting features like launch control, a 2nd wideband, etc, but it's not necessary.

Along with selecting wideband under basic settings/exhaust gas settings, also enable your AFR target table under more settings/lambda AFR settings, and under file/project/project properties, make sure to select the specific wideband you're using.
