How well does the TRS-E XL fit in a NB? It looks safer and probably more comfortable than the Ultrashield Rally Sport.

Just picked up an OMP TRS-E for my 95 Miata R Package from OG Racing, with installation by Piper Motorsport. I am very pleased with the build quality and fit of the seat, after looking for months at various seats by Sparco, Corbeau, Bride, and Kirkey. While my height and waist size are within reason (5'9 and 36"), I had a hard time finding a FIA rated seat that fit my shoulders (I wear a size 46 jacket).

Big thanks to OG for answering all my questions, and Piper for the custom work on my Miata to get the seat to fit perfect!

the OMP Hte is the perfect seat for miata applications. narrow solders, and low mounting position.

Do you guys have sizing charts for these things? Specifically the TRS-E XL or whatever it was that was posted earlier. I'm trying to figure out if it will fit in my NB (looks like it will) and if my fatass will fit in one.

we post the manufactures sizes, and those are sometimes accurate.

the best is to sit up against the wall, on top of a tape measure, and measure your butt.
do the same for your shoulders. sit down and measure from where your shoulders meet you neck to the top of the floor/table. send me those two measurements and i can measure the seats we have in stock. i also know what fits in a miata. we can get you squared away.

In this picture I notice that a cut has been made in the transmission tunnel. Would anyone know the dimensions of the cut?

Trying to fit an HTE-R seat in my '97. I will need to make a similar cut.

Glad you liked my install above! That install was an HTE in a 1991. I've been very happy with the seat. For my next install in another Miata, I'm evaluating my options...what has changed with the HTE-R vs. the original HTE pictured above. Anyone done an install of an HTE-R or an HTE-R 400 recently?
