1.6 turbo question
ive got a garrett t25 on a completely stock 1.6L
with a megasquirt v2 controlling it with the electronic boost controller.
how much boost can it take?
and what can i do to the motor (ie:apr heads studs, thicker head gasket......??) to lay down some more psi?

All depends on the mileage and year of the 1.6. 1991.1/2 on back, 16.7 psi is max. 1991 1/2 to 1993, I've personally seen people run just over 22 psi. Just make sure you run a 9 series plug gapped at .012". Also helps to do a leakdown test of your valve cover. If that gasket leaks, then you'll need to use a crap ton of black rtv to make it seal 100%. Trick is not to use a torque wrench. Crank the bolts until you think they're gonna snap off, and start from the passengers side rear and go counter clockwise.

You can run up to about 17 psi on any sized garret t25, I've known them to go up to about 22 if you don't go over 88% throttle. You will probably be in the 7s in AFR at that pressure though if you want to be safe.

Max power is more the better question and answer then boost as not every turbo is the same. You can find GTX rods occasionally and get more power, but those are getting harder to find so aftermarket would be your best bet.
