Default Aerodyne aerocharger?

So heres the story:
I bought a 91 miata with a turbo kit already installed. I brought it home and shortly thereafter the turbo stopped making turbo noises. I pulled the turbo and I find out that its a AERODYNE AEROCHARGER D5S. The impeller still rotates but not as easilly as I would think it would. I think the kit came from Begi (bell engineering). In doing alittle research i have found out that aerodyne is apparantly no longer making turbos, and that they are "the best turbos you will never find".

So my question to you is:
1) what do you know about aerochargers and where can I get a rebuild kit or have it done?
2) would it be better to just go ahead and tap the oil pan and get a garrett?

There's a place that rebuilds them, but I'm not sure they're still in business. They're either in Texas or up north, like Wisconsin or Michigan.

I'd call Corky at BEGi.

This guy has one for sale (I'm not affiliated). There isn't anyone currently rebuilding them. The easiest thing to do would be to pick up another one (like the above). GL

There is a guy in Utah that repairs them. The name of the business is Turbo Doc. When i get to the office, i will post the phone #.

Maybe one day when the legal stuff is settled the aerodyne's might come back. But we'll see.
