Yes, BEGi has a scooper for the R-Package Lip Spoiler. However, don't let the picture you linked fool you. There is NOT a slot cut into the spoiler.

The picture you're referencing was taken when we were looking at some fitment issues, prior to final installation of the spoiler. (Mostly) Final front end looks as such:

Hasn't everyone been saying that BEGI makes a R-package scoop as well now? I don't know of any other company making scoops.

 

Man that slot look good to me! I got the slot idea from Ms. Stephanie Turner when I was ordering my kit. She indicated that the R-scooper was developed due to customers not wanting to cut their spoilers. Later I saw that image and here we are . Ms Turner, please clarify. And as long as you're answering questions, does the scooper fits over the #2 IC? I'm asking because I have trial fitted the #2 IC and it looks as if it lower than where the front of the scooper mounts (scooper on back order).

Chris, I would try to follow Jay's advise on keeping the stock fans. I bought a PWR radiator and FCM's fans and shroud kit and I'm not pleased with those fans' fcm. I'm installing at least one of the stock fans tomorrow because I can't get enough flow from the FCM spals.

Be sure to get a radiator that gives you enough room to get the stock fans in. BTW, are you planning on doing the coolant reroute? (I seem to recall reading it was included in your plans but I'm too old and it's too much of hassle for me to look it up now ).

I guess we'll find out the day after tomorrow. My mechanic sure thinks so. He calls the FCM fans: "A/C fans". We've got 90* days all year round in these parts and I've been having cooling issues ever since I turboed my car; granted some of those issues had nothing to do with the turbo but others definitely did. I think the fans don't have enough flow. What we're going to be doing is keep the FCM fan used for the A/C (I don't have enough room on the coldside to place any thicker fan on that side because of the IC piping; in fact we had to change the mouth of the radiator around to make it fit there) and place the factory one on the other side. I also want to do this mod before I get the Autonexion hood for comparison purposes.

The larger turbo will require that you bend down the lip of the frame. Cutting is not needed though.

The S3 base price is $3349.00
With MS PNP $3854.00

~The PWS cooler only comes with the '99+ systems. So there is no credit there.
~The boost gauge and mount price is correct.
~The BOV is incorrect. The system includes a bypass valve. If you want to use a BOV, the difference in price is $140.00 more including the valve. We do not recommend the BOV's though. We have seen 2860's surge with a Greddy and a Tial Valve. The Mitsubishi valve may not be the prettiest thing out there, but it is a proven and reliable tool.
~The coolant re-route and water bypass cannot be deleted if you keep the intercooler. The lower radiator tube must be relocated to accommodate the compressor outlet tube.
~We do make an R package air scooper. I have pictures of one bolted on. They are of a rather ugly bumper, but shoot me an e-mail and I can send them to you.
~No EGR will be a $30.00 credit.

~The 3" flange is $30.00. This is also a 3" OD dimension.
~The Tial BOV is $225.00. The credit from the Bypass valve is $85.00. So the upgrade cost is $140.00.
~IC #2 is $65.00
~EGT Bung is correct.

S3 price WITH MS PNP (from DIY) is $3743.00. Upgrades would be $240.00 extra. I left the air scooper in the cost, but if you do not want it, it is $150.00 less.

We sell the XD-16 for $369.00, and the other WB+LC-1 combo's for $269.00.

We could ship the MS PNP and innovate gauge prior to the turbo if needed. The MSPNP includes the air temps sensor kit. You can configure while turbo is being built.

Hey there!
The hole cut in the bumper of bader's car is for the oil cooler. Totally unrelated to an air scooper!

I have a picture of a R package bumper installed with a scooper. The bumper is UGLY, but it gives you an idea of fitment around the spoiler.

The scooper will fit with all intercoolers. If it looks like yours is not going to fit, shoot me some photos, and I will complain to Corky for you. It is possible that the new IC mounts may have changed something. But since the inlet and outlet tubes still fit, I would think the scooper should be okay too.

Understood. Curious why there's no difference in price on the 99+ systems if they include the PWS cooler.

I've got the Tial already, it's a quality piece of hardware, and I think it'll work fine if properly setup. Given that, what would the net cost be to delete the Mistu valve, and weld the Tial flange onto the IC pipes. I have an aluminum, and a steel Tial flange which I can send down to you, along with the Tial 50 for fittment.

I already have the Tial, as stated above.

I already have the Innovate LC-1 / XD-16.

That helps a whole lot.

One last thing. I have had to leave my car at the track at least once after driving it there and having it break on me at the track (3 of the 4 8mm studs between the manifold and the turbo decided to back out, and when the turbo cocked it broke the 4th, and then I broke another one trying to remove them all. Not a good day.). The ride home was easy (thankfully) since my dad was there with his car as well, but I still had to spend 6 hours the following day taking our Suburban and a borrowed flatbed 200 miles north to retrieve it.

The car made it through 12 track days without needing a trailer, but the 13th was a big enough PITA that I will be towing the car to future track days.

 

Been there done that. Blew my engine on track at an SR20 convention 1000+ miles from home. In the end, it was a great experience.

Wasted both outer CV's another time at Pocono.

Both times I was lucky enough to have lots of friends around (with trailers) to bail me out.

Too tired to go into details now. Must sleeeeeeeeeeep.

i thought i read somewhere that if you buy a turbo kit with a fuel management system, they give you a discount, hence the 3800 price tag.

 

That is correct! It is not that we sell the MSPNP for 500 something. It is that when purchased with the kit, we give a small discount off of the turbo kit. And the turbo system comes with all the tubes and bungs needed for the MS PNP. And it gets shipped prior to the turbo so that you can get it set up and running prior to the turbo install.
