Flying Miata VS BEGI
I'm one of those guys who has a supersmall, almost microscopic *****. When I'm soft, you can barely tell I have one, or if it's cold or I've been swimming, it virtually disappears into a small discolored patch of skin on my crotch. ***** are virtually non-existent. And for some reason, I ******' love to show it off, the smaller the better. When someone sees my ****, I KNOW they see it, because the reaction is great. Either shock followed by laughter or shock outright. I always know when it's been seen.
I especially like showing it off in the lockerroom. After I finish my cardio, it's crazy small in my biking shorts. When I go back to the lockers, I try to make sure it's a busy time (after lunch, around 1, is great; you get all the straight office guys showering up to go back to work). I'll strip off right away at my locker, which is in the middle of the room. I take my time getting ready for the shower, all the while knowing that my hairless, child-sized ***** is on display for everyone to see. The dick is so small that it always attracts attention, but since this is a grown-up gym, not high school, no one comments. A few times I've seen a guy look at it, smile, and a few seconds later, when he's talking with his buddy, they'll snicker, and I know they're talking about my *****. Do you have any idea how hot it is when you're that exposed and people are talking about you? And since my **** is so shocking, it always garners extended glances.
The gym is large and has private and group showers. Of course I use the group showers! I take my time too and always finish up with a few minutes of water as cold as I can stand. By the time I get back to the lockerroom, you can't even see the head of my ***** at all; it completly retracts, and so do my *****. Sometimes I'll shave at the sink completely bareassed, all the while guys come and go and look and try to keep from being so damned obvious.

I wasn't trying to start a pissing match or anything like that. I'm very new to Miata's, but not modified RWD imports. It seems better to ask people in the know, then to try and reinvent what seems to be a pretty good wheel.
I had the impression 250hp if tuned correctly would be a pretty safe power level for a daily driven Miata, as long as it was tuned correclty, for where you live. Thats part of the reasons I was a bit concerned with the MS. A few DFW locals have said they were not able to get MS equipped cars tuned. However, I just talked to a friend who thinks he knows someone who can take care of this once I'm ready.
I have to admit I totally missed the number for BEGI, at the bottom of the page, I'll give them a call monday to get more info. My original plan was to spend a round 4000.00 on a turbo kit, with either a piggy back, or MS for fuel management. After talking to friends who use to work for some of the local performance shops, I was directed to Flying Miata, and I realized my budget would have to expand.
Now I'm looking at spending around $5,000 for the kit, and based on what I'm seeing here, that would should included a PnPMS injectors, and maybe a fuel pump. I saw that both compaines offer options without electronics. I'm also going to try and find the parts here locally for the rear end, swap, and a clutch and fly wheel upgrade.
As far as the power to get around a vette, I've seen Miatas with less power than that be pretty effective at the local track in Cresson, TX. I think as long as the car is setup well, and I can learn to drive it to its potential, it will be great.
All together I should have about 7500 - 8000 in my budget to get the car turbocharged, a better than stock suspension including maybe a 1.8 brake upgrade. My wifes only request was a roll-bar of some sort after she took a drive with me. I'm looking at the hard dog M2, but I don't know if it will fit my top, I don't think its OEM, or Robbinson. After this is done, I'll just work on other minor upgrades and time and money allow.
I'm not a tuner, but I'm ok with a wrench and a laptop. I will be more than happy to try and work on getting base maps getting the car on the road, but I don't have a dyno, nor have I ever used a wide-band so I prefer to leave that to someone with experience.
I should be ready to buy everything in the next two to three months.

You are right on budget and on track for what you want to do. Can be done DIY much cheaper but if you don't want to shop for months for every great deal you are realistic. FM or BEGI. Both solid players in the market. For the most part you will find a slight BEGI bias here. Both companies put out a good product that will do what you want.
Seriously though, where are you located? You mention a track in TX. If BEGI isn't too far from you I'd go there. Pay them to tune it!

If you want to see what the begi kit looks like in person, all you have to do is let me borrow a cherry picker, you can watch me install it too. I like to work on the car in a banana hammock, oil up, and flex constantly, so you'll have eye candy too...lol.
Seriously, if you want to see what you'll get from the begi kit, come over on a weekend. I could use someone to drive the car while I road tune it too.

I'm not really into guys in banana hammocks, but i'd be happy to assist with the install or tuning.
I met Gary not to long after I picked up my Miata, his car is impressive, It made me consider a supercharger for a few days, but I more familiar with turbochargers.

I live in Lewisville. My sis's BF is a member at msr, and I run out there fairly frequently. Hell, at 180whp w/r-compounds, you'll get pointed by c6z's. Gary Shuhart (TDR) has a 260whp NB at 2500lb that had the lap record there until earlier this year for a car with a license plate. If the vette driver sucks, I''ll get pointed at 94whp...lol.

With the exception of the S4 with its fancy manifold, the differences between all the Bell kits are relatively subtle. The only major procedural difference between the 3 and the 5 will be the fitting of the external wastegate.

As of right now, we do not have a S4 or S5 system for a 1.6L. We just received our shipment of 1.6L S4 manifolds, so we will have a S4 soon, just not yet. The S5 can be done, but we would have to install it in house so that we could make all the parts off of your car. A S3 is no problem though. Tim has a MegaSquirt on his car and it runs great, and he can tune it. I am not sure how far away you are from us, but you are in TX. So if you go the MS route, Tim is more than happy to help.

How long would I have to leave my car with BEGI if you did the install?

On a related topic, we need a 1.6L car with A/C and PWS to make a tube off of. Since we have the rest of the kit and only need to confirm fit on the compressor outlet tube, it would take about 2-3 weeks.

Depends on the system. The S5 would take less time. But It, in all reality, will probably take us about 2-3 months. Since this is a new system.
