Default Goodbye Greddy wastegate...

...and hello Garrett WG from an FM1!

The FM site lists it as being adjustable from 5-9 psi, but on my Greddy it hit the boost cut at 200 kpa, so I'd say it works really, really well. I'm slowly working on finding a good psi for it, since I refuse to raise the limiter any further but don't want to be banging off of it either. Tedious taking the bowser on and off to adjust it after a drive, and sucks hearing your left index finger's skin searing on the turbine housing because you weren't paying attention.

Here it is installed:

...and here's what happened the maiden voyage:

Oh, and the thing about fitting this particular WGA is that as it comes it's too short, but using the ATP extension kit (can't find 1/4 x 28 thread anywhere around here) makes it too long, so I cut the rod down to fit the thing.

yeah yeah, they work though. Maybe I could be all Colin Chapman and cut them down for the weight savings.

Looks good. Maybe one weekend I'll have time for cool projects too.

Weekend? I worked all weekend, ******* "Latino Fest" on post. Bunch of civilians drinking margaritas and Coronas while I babysit the PA system. I did all of this today (only worked until 10:30).
