Default Greddy installed today, mucho compressor surge?

After lurking on this forum and plotting for the past 12 months, I finally fitted a (used) Greddy kit to my '91 today. I've not driven it hard so far, in fact I've not been beyond 4500rpm, but I'm surprised by the amount of compressor surge I can hear. It's running stock boost, is this normal? If so, where do I plumb in a bypass valve (remember I'm using the stock plastic trunking)?

Thanks

Yes that is normal. All turbos will surge without a bypass valve. You can install a bosch recirc valve on the intake tube, anywhere and recirc it after the AFM.

Go forth and search to find example pictures.

its too cold to do it now, and its allways snowing and raining,
this thing works great and install time was about 3 minutes, in freezing weather

If the BOV is sealed tight, he won't suffer any idling problem. The only down side is an rich shift point.

What brand is the bov? turbosmart? I think you can get attachments on ebay or something with the necessary flange for 20 bucks or something.
