you wouldnt want to. Itll be more expensive to do that then to buy an equivalent kit.

If you already have the parts, sell them and buy a BEGi-S kit.
If you don't have the parts, buy a BEGi-S kit.

You could always install a 1.6.
I've actually seen a 1.8-->1.6 swap car. Once.
Bell's stuff is better quality than the Greddy stuff. But that's not to say that the Greddy turbo and manifold are not capable performers.

The one where you falsely implied that the oil supply line which comes with the Greddy kit will work on all 1.8 engines, without clarifying that only early-model 1.8s have the required fitting on the block and that on later cars one will need to replace that too, leaving the actual turbo itself as the only useful component of the kit?

Seriously- I just can't see buying a Greddy kit and then attempting to transplant it to a 1.8. If you're gonna DIY then do it right- find a Garrett 2554 or 2560, buy a manifold, and make a downpipe. Otherwise, save the headaches any buy the Bell package.
It's not like the parts that Greddy supplies are of particularly good quality, it's just that, for us 1.6ers anyway, it was really the only affordable non-DIY option for quite a long time.

This is for the Greddy owner who has a dead 1.6 engine, and now wants to swap to a 1.8BP engine without much effort. My first turbo kit was a 1.6 Greddy (10 Years ago), and one of my buddies upgraded his 1.6 to a 1.8 with a Greddy TD04. The car was amazing! I think he got it up to 280-290ish with a LINK Mk1 ecu.
I agree that the stock greddy Downpipe is ***! But many people spend so much upgrading their greddy kit, and have to sell it all to go 1800cc.
