Default Greddy TD04h-15G = Other TD04s will work too?

Pretty simple, I searched for greddy replacements, not much avaialbe...but it looks to be about the same as other TD04 after market turbos (like the TD04h-19T). So would any TD04 mount up to the manifold and downpipe or is there something that makes the TD04H special?

There are a huge number of turbos in that family, and they all seem to have a different outlet flange.

You see them pop up on eBay motors from time to time- everything from trashed to used to rebuilt to new.

You can also get rebuild kits for them, if yours simply has trashed bearings. For example:
http://www.theturbotrader.com/produc...roducts_id=113
http://www.boostplanet.com/td04_rebuild.htm
http://www.gpopshop.com/mitsubishikits.html

(no affiliation or experience with any of these vendors- just a Google search.)

Also, here's a shop selling new and rebuild TD04 turbos:http://www.boostplanet.com/td04.htm

Here is a comprehensive list of MHI turbos:

http://www.stealth316.com/misc/mhi-t...ons-melett.pdf

Many different styles of inlet and discharge flanges though.

I have list of turbos, what I want to know is what will work with stock placed manifold/dp

I'm looking for a beat up TD04h-15G so I can rebuilt to 19T specs for a decent amount of money, but if you can find the TD04h-19T that came on some honda kits etc...I think that will fit too.

If I can find a stock greddy turbo I can get a new wheel, machined and balanced and get a rebuild kit from Gpop for like $315 bucks shipped including the machine work...I just need to find a turbo.

I just need a turbo. I have a a greddy manifold so as soon as I find a turbo I can buy a downpipe from tony as he seems to make the best replacement for the money.

So I want/need something that will bolt to the stock manifold and downpipe positions and flanges and I'm having a hardtime coming up with info on these turbos as I can't find them for sale outside of greddy kits. Thanks Guys.

You have a Greddy manifold, but no turbo or DP, and you're planning a DIY build.

My honest advice: Sell the manifold to a Greddy owner who needs a replacement, buy a better manifold for a T3 or T25, get a proper water-cooled Garrett and go from there.

you can unbolt the clamp at the chra and swap in the 19t chra and compressor housing.

But I'd have to spend at least 200 bucks to get another manifold...if I could find a cheap turbo I could have a DIY hardware for under a grand.

I'm just trying to do this rather cheaply. It just seems like T25 stuff is much more expensive, but you are right, if I went the T25 Route I could always upgrade to a nicer turbo.

I should have just kept the Begi stuff I had a while back, but I had to sell it for bills. :(

Just asking, if I could find a cheap turbo, why would this be a bad idea? power, reliablility of the turbo..etc etc?

Zoom, any idea what CHRA the 19T stuff came from?

Curious, what is a 19T and why is it better/does it have a downside?

Its just a larger compressor that should allow for higher flow with roughly the same amount of flow and about 320hp cap on it...right?

You would likely blow your motor before you would ever max out a 19t.

Find me a 19t and I'll try to prove you wrong.

a 19t can flow upwards of 500cfm vs a 15g at 430cfm. 270hp vs. 315hp give or take.

Me want. If I can find a 19t I'll put it and my webcam 505s in and retune.

lol, Ben I just reread your post in my WTB and realized you said your spare had TURBINE issues... reading pwns me.

GPOP can take your turbo and do the machine and the wheel for like 200 bucks or so, and you can reassemble at home yanno...with a rebuild...thats like 300 bucks for a new 19T spec TD04.

I'm in the process of doing the 19T swap right now. Depending on how soon I get my stimulus check and how soon I go back to work. Should have my turbo done in a couple weeks.

Yeah, that's why I didn't want to sell it to you.
It has damage to the turbine wheel.

Ok, so the fact that the actual 19T turbo is impossible to find that bolts up...what is a fair price for a greddy 15G used...or a rebuilt 15G. There is a fella who was a professionally rebuilt turbo that I was referred to that is asking 400 shipped, seems steep to me but I've never actually dealt with anything other than garrett stuff...

$400 on a good turbo seems like a fair price to me, assuming it's correct
