Default Guess what, I bought a stupid MSD box! Help me set my timing!

I got an MSD box for cheap, no sense in dumping the cash on a bipes when I'm going MS shortly anyways.

From what I've read, it pulls 6deg of timing at max. I'm on a mostly stock GReddy kit right now at ~5psi and 6deg base timing. Since this MSD box pulls 6 total, would it be safe to bump up base to 12 rather than 10?

What's "mostly stock"?
Fill out your sig with your current setup.

Offhand, I'd say with no IC, you should probably stick with 12* pulling 6*. If you've got an IC and can keep the boost down to 5-6psi, then I think you could get away with 14* base.

I'm running a Bipes, 14*base, pulling 8* @12psi boost. It was 94*F here in VaBch today and I drove the **** out of it. No knock, nothing on the oil pressure needle. You should be fine at 12*.

I could knock running the msd, 13 deg with an intercooler and 93 octane at 9 PSI or so. Figure my intercooled 9 psi to be appx the same IAT as non intercooled 5 PSI.

Every car is a bit different. Try it and see. 10-12 should be possible.

Done. I don't knock at 6 base, so I figure 12 to be the same as 6 without the box. I'm on 93 octane. I'm not really interested in pushing it until I get my MS set up with KnockSense. I'm a former GTP guy (non-intercooled roots) so I'm really paranoid about knock. I may dial it back to 11 just for safety. I just wanted to verify that the curve in which the MSD pulls timing is roughly equivalent to the flat pull that cranking back the CAS gives you.
