The real question is how committed are you to updating that prehistoric BRP kit and do you like porkchopsandwiches? The BEGi stuff is nice, but it seems fitment on that damn SGDP is a PITA..kinda like their customer service
With you being happy with yout GT2554 and being a fun daily driver, you really won't notice much difference. Now if you were running a GT2860 or larger and were looking to eek out ever last horse hoof of power, then I'd go that route. But for simplicity, cost and durability, I still say the FM "kit" would suit you best. Sure you could grab the JGS, have a machine shop assemble/weld/finish it, but if it's even a fraction of an inch off the BRP's turbo placement, you'll have a hell of a headache getting the exhaust to line up properly. For some that is OK, for others like me it's nice to just have everything bolt right up and go.

What a coincidence !

I'm between the FM manifold and downpipe pair and BEGI's for a 1.6 low boost application...

That may convince you to boost your Miata. I haven't been the same since I rode in a heavily modified turbo Subaru back in 2001 or 2002!

Shallow character. I've been in all sorts of monsters, including monster miatas (430whp) and I still prefer my car. 140whp is still plenty of fun with the right suspension mods.

Different strokes for different folks. I've owned 2 na Miatas over the past 5 years and loved them, but after coming from a RX7 turbo, they lacked (among other things) motivation. Rather than going back to RX7s and spending much more money, turbo Miatas are a nice compromise for me. However, I am considering building a spec Miata or Lotus 7 derivative for the track.
