Kraken Top vs Bottom Mount Real World Comparison?
At long last, I'm about ready to order my turbo kit. All of the supporting mods in my car have finally been installed minus the Supermiata clutch, which I'll be putting in tomorrow. I've decided on a full Kraken 2560 kit but haven't yet chosen whether to go top or bottom mount for the manifold.
I've read up on the main pros and cons of each setup. To dumb it down, likely better flow and spool times with the low mount, easier access to the turbo nuts/studs fluid lines with the top mount.
The car in question is a 1995 with a stock block that's (hopefully) going to see a lot of track time this coming year. I'm shooting for a reliable 200-220whp (any extra up to 250 would be a bonus) in the immediate future. I'd like to have headroom up to 300whp in the more distant future though, once I build a forged engine and get a 6 speed for the car.
If the performance benefit of the low mount is substantial and I can make a large horsepower gain with the low mount at a given boost level, I'd strongly consider going that direction. However, if the gains from the low mount are minimal, I'm probably better off going with the top mount for easier access if I need to mess with the system trackside...
So my questions here are:
-Does anyone here have quantifiable data regarding performance gains on the Kraken low mount manifold over the top mount manifold?
-Who's running a Kraken manifold on their track car, and why did you choose the one that you did?
Thanks as always guys. Stoked to get the ball rolling here shortly.

Good point, thanks.
Yeah, tucking the turbo down there is probably even better than having heat shielding up too for the lines, throttle cable, etc. I’ll take that into consideration.
And whoa, small world haha. What year/color is your car? Wonder if I’ve seen you driving around.
