2nd time this has happened. I drove the car on the freeway for about 25miles or so, stop to get gas, then start it again, and there it is, loud lifters. it goes away after about 2mins of driving. I am thinking it could be my oil return line since it just started after i did my front swaybars. i am running 10-40 mobil 1 full synthetic. any ideas guys?

 

Are you do for an oil change? I find that the warm start issue gets worse and worse and worse as you get close to an oil change....

Also you might just want to check your oil level.... and well if you installed the sways, and disturbed the oil return.... just check it for slope, etc...

Try 10w30 on your next oil change.

 

When I switched to 10-30 I was doing great.. no lifter tick on idle.. lifter tick only occured after I drove on freeway and was doing like 90-100.....I guess the oil thinned at high temps?

 

I had the opposite experience. I got a little lifter noise on cold start, but a lot on HOT start. Switched to 5W50 Mobil1 and all has been great.

 

the oil change was just done about 2000 miles ago. oil level is high. i will switch on the next oil change. but i think its just weird cuz this is the 1st time it started doing this.

 

Have you put in any other additives?

 

no, just straight mobil 1 10/40 full synthetic
