I went for the MSD timing controller. Should the pressure source for it be off the compressor discharge or manifold pressure.

get it off the manifold, as the pre-intercooler pressure will be different once installed.

this will ensure the MSD sees exactly what the engine sees, unless for some reason you want it to start pulling timing quicker.
