So i want to hit 600hp and run about 40 psi on a stock engine, is that possible? jk......

After searching and reading around for a good 5 hours at work, i think the miata would be a great car for me.
I read that the greddy has the ability of going upwards to 240ish hp. I have not seen any dyno charts or anyone to confirm this, is this true?

Is the 1.8l lsd swap hard to do, and what would be an average cost of the parts?

Running 1.8l injectors, 190psi pump, intercooler, fuel management(emanage or apc or something) and an otherwise stock greddy kit, will i be able to hit the 200ish hp range?

Does the greddy kit fit cars with AC and PS without removing them?

How much power can the stock transmission and/or motor take?

i dont hear many people talking about 1/4 times, and if they do its VERY random. some run high 13s others run 12s with pretty much the same power. Im sure drivers skill is involved, but thats a pretty big difference.

My target goal would be around 230ish-240ish horsepower. I am hopping to into the 12s and be able to drive the car reliably.

And, most importantly, Is there ANY decent body kits out there that dont make this little thing look so corky?

12's with 250 whp is a drivers race as well as some race rubber most likely. Just FYI look at BGR and several others greddy will do 250 no problem rear end swap is easy as well as everything else. Greddy fits on PS/AC miata no problem as do many other kits/routes even mine. look some more you are on the right track,

250-ish is possible , but you essentially replace everything but the turbo and manifold so as much as I love my GReddy kit, you might want to look into a DIY setup b/c you will probably spend the same and have a better tailored setup for your needs. YMMV. Back when I went GReddy, there weren't as many options/knowledge/forums as there are now so DIY is much more feasible.

1) Yes, I am in that range with 14.5 - 15 PSI of boost. Miatas are rocketships at this power level due to low eight.

2) I swapped a 1.8 Torsen into my car after I completely blew up the stock 1.6 diff. It wasn't hard. Just need the 1.8 driveshaft as well as the diff and both half-shafts. I got a screaming deal on a used one with everything for $500. Check out http://www.solomiata.com for more info

3) Yes, that is similar to an old setup I had with my emanage.

4) Yes I have AC and Powersteering on my car. I had to bend the AC hoses a little bit to get my intercooler and piping to fit but that is not a big deal.

5) Tranny and motor is good for at least 250, stock diff on mine blew up at 215 HP after a few months.

6) Never run the 1/4 mile in my car. I blow the doors off of WRX's and S2000's though.

7) Good luck. Sounds feasible to me.

if you're going for that much power, go ahead and do megasquirt from the start.

the greddy kit is worth skipping, imo. as brgracer said, all you end up with is a mani (not a great one) and a turbo.

Thanks for all the great replies.
The ONLY reason i want to go with the greddy kit is because im under the control of the smog **** here in cali. if anyone has a spare carb sticker for sale ill go with a diy kit =)

Are there any other kits that are CARBed for any of the years?, other then the Jackson supercharger?

uh joe and several others just desmog every so often i believe why not just do that. Run your DIY then smog it as NA.

Yeah if you can afford to go with something other than Greddy, do it. To start off with you need to change the air filter and cut the manifold. Then to make alot of power you have to add an intercooler, upgrade the downpipe and other supporting mods. You end up building a DIY kit anyway.
