On a basicly stock greddy setup running 5-5.5psi what would be a good upgraded injector size? I'm selling the car soon so don't want to go crazy but figured if I picked up a set of 1.8L injectors and throw them in it would be cheap and effective. Not sure how big the 1.6L's are and how big the 1.8L's are so wasn't sure if I should just get larger than 1.8L's.

Reason being the car was leaning out slightly stock fuel setup with vortech fmu and 190lph pump. Wanted to see how different injectors would result. Same setup has been on the car for 2 years and no issues.

Any 1.8 is better than no 1.8. The NB 1.8 injectors are larger. Get what you can get cheap. I think there is a set forsale on m.net right now.

The 1.6 injectors are 230cc. The 1.8 injectors are 265cc. You are basically maxing out the 1.6's at about 6 psi.

What disc do you have in your FMU?

cool so now we know you have the ability to run about 90-100 psi of FP by 10psi giving the 230's headroom for 200 or so whp.

so with my current setup my guess is around 145whp with an intercooler and bipes. so why would I be leaning out something wrong with my current injectors or fmu?

where are you lean up top? on midrange tip in? please elaborate as to what you are experiencing. Notice my numbers are given 10 psi of boost to raise the Fuel pressure to 100 psi given 5-6 psi you have enough fuel for 200 whp still given a 10-1 disk or a little more given a 12-1 stock greddy disk but please tell us where you are lean this could be a base Fuel pressure issue a O2 clamp issue a dirty fuel filter etc. And tell us how you know you are lean as well.

I didn't feel like being a dick and starting a new thread, I plan on 9:1 forged internals, gt2860, valve springs for raised rpm, deshrouded valves, a slight polishing of the head and aim for 19 to 20 psi to stay under the diypnp bar limit. How big injectors will I need? I was thinking 600, but I'm probably wrong.

I just went from 550's to 660's for a little extra headroom, running right around the power you're shooting for. With a decent ECU to control the injectors you might as well go a little bigger than you're planning to need IMO.

I highly recommend the Fuel Injector Clinic 650cc EV14. They are so good, they idle better than the stock injectors. I can provide basemaps for these. If you need to go bigger, I can also provide basmaps for the 775cc and 850cc variants as well.

If you going to buy injectors there's absolutely no reason to buy anything other then ID1000s IMO. With a built motor your eventually going to want more and anything smaller will not give you room to expand.

Do us all a favor and quickly forget everything you've ever learned or assumed about fuel injectors.

You can idle ID1000s at stoich. They probably have a better spray pattern than the factory injector does. The IDs are dynamically matched, so low-speed driveability and idle quality will be extremely good.

In general, all of the downsides of big injectors are no longer a concern with EV14 injectors. You can have one set of injectors that will idle stoich, pass emissions testing, exhibit perfect driveability, and then support 500+whp on stock fuel pressure.
