Default Who's in Texas?

Any of you Greddy guys near Spring Branch? If so, would you mind letting Corky use your car to fab up a divorced gas downpipe?

Longshot, I know.

Thought about it. It's not cost effective because I can get a TurboTony pipe for $250 shipped. The BEGi may be superior, but not enough to be worth the extra labor, hassle, expense, and risk of doing so.

If I couldn't get a Tony pipe, I would have pulled it off already.

To use the car to mock up a downpipe. I don't know how long it would take Corky, or when he could fit it in.

BEGi's dp has 2 advantages over the TurboTony pipe (which is highly regarded):
1. Larger 2.75" vs 2.5:
2. Divorced wastegate gasses
Which would translate into quicker spool and more power.

I am in texas but no longer have a turbo.

The 2.75 would be tight in there with the way that the greddy manifold sits the turbo. Thats why we went with a 2.5 when Racing mazda made the greddy downpipe on my old car

i was picturing the downpipe being 2.75" from the point where the wastegate tube routes back in and back from there, maybe 2.5" from that point up to the turbo

Might be worth him also mocking up a replacement manifold (if it's not too much extra work) while he has the car as a upgrade/replacement for any old cracking ones. Maybe even one that places the turbo a little lower?

Dude, not that I wouldn't appreciate it... But mapquest says Corky's shop is 4 hours away from you. And you'd have to leave the car, get a ride home, then get another ride to pick the car up later. I can't ask you to do that.

I am willing to do it, I can combine the trip with a short vacation to San Antonio or Austin. Have a roommate who is into miata's too.

BRG,

Stephanie said they'll hook you up with a downpipe for the cost of materials if you let them use your car! Please contact her to set it up.

Thanks,
Ben
