Default Why won't this tube fit? BEGi S2 1.6l w/ A/C

I am in the middle of installing a BEGi S2 kit on my '91 1.6l with A/C. I cannot make the turbo to intercooler tube fit! The hard lines from the a/c seem to interfere with the intercooler tube. Withe the tube installed, I can't move the a/c compressor back far enough to bolt it in. I have red arrows showing where the tubes hit. I'm I doing something wrong? Is my a/c system different than in everyone else's car? I would appreciate any help I could get. Thanks.

move the intercooler tubes abit you wont be able to bend that line and r12 is expensive. So unless you totally wanna remove the AC just mod the intercooler pipe or how it mounts.

flip it around, you need to go under those a/c lines, not around them.

this is wrong:

I tried going under the a/c lines and this is how it looks:

Then I flipped the tube over:

I would think I had the wrong tube, but BEGi sent me another one and it looks the same.

At least from your pictures I can tell my a/c lines are normal. Thanks for trying to help.

Those lines bend easily if that's the only issue in your first configuration. I got my pipe second hand so I'm unsure what it was sold as.

Ahhh. Magna said I wouldn't be able to bend them. I was worried I would crimp or break them. If you think it's safe I will give it a try.

I had the same issue on my 94 with my S1 kit. So I pulled out my AC and the problem was solved.

Freeberg, Yes, several 1.6 AC line configs exist. We've not yet had the privelege to see them all.

We have a dozen different els and hose bends. What do you think will fix your problem?

Sorry we sent a piece that is not in order.

Brain, Those a/c lines do look soft, but they are VERY rigid! I wasn't able to bend them without using excessive force. The day wasn't a loss though. I successfully tapped my pan. Woot! Glad to have that out of the way!

Corky, Thanks for the info and the offer to help. I'll have to mock something up and let you know what I need. I'll be in touch. The project will probably be delayed however since I will be traveling to Rome for work at the end of next week.

Thanks again to everyone for their help!

Freeberg. My CE, Pawkett, reminded me we have three 1.6 comp outlet tubes. Chances are we made the wrong one.

Can you send me a picture of the tube you have? If necessary, we'll make both of the others and send them on.

Corky, That sounds great! I hope we can get this resolved quickly. I emailed the pictures to Stephanie, and posted copies here:
