Oh yeah.... there is a whole lot of time to be made up, but it's the "official" TTE record at Barber -
With better conditions and better driving(more aggressive) high 1:43s - low 1:44s is where the record should be at for TTE. I really like that Barber isn't a power course, I rarely have traffic issue. Though, I DID almost have a Lamborghini Super Trofeo run into me while I was passing him.....he was on his cooldown lap ,was off line, and just started to merge into me as we came into the corkscrew. I went two off to avoid his $300k car hitting my poor miata.

Man...I just looked at the M-O entry list again. Darn. Mid-Ohio is like my home track and I'm actually sort of decent there...sometimes.
Even if i could make it (I can't), looks like both TT and Racing are currently waitlisted so no dice.
I'll be eagerly watching T&S.

Anyone want to run TTE at the Fall Fling @ NCCAR this weekend? Like, I'd pay half your entry fee want to run?
I'd be the 4th E car and you'd be the 5th.
Five cars would be a good thing!
@black bandit You're ready for TT right!?!

Another day, another beer!
So not that any of us had any doubts, but Dan is a ******* wheelman.....man.
This was a new PB for him, previous was a 1:41.8xx I believe? I was just happy to see my car being competitive! Keeping in mind the record was reset the session before this with a 1:40.8xx by Neumansis. Seriously though, good job Dan.
There's some obvious short-comings from my car as well. These aren't as apparent on most of the track I run, I'd say Barber is the closest to Mid-O for what I've done and I've noticed these thing, but not as bad as they are at Mid-O.
1. My torsen sucks, I need to flush it again(and again? j/k I need an OSG)
2. I need to install my prop-valve. I've never had this much rear lock-up issue. It even did it coming into madness.
Anddd here's my timid *** going around the track. My best was a 1:44.3xx on my 3rd official session in the late afternoon. I honestly can't wait to get back up to this track, it's a BLAST!
Unfortunately my weekend was cut short. Had some rod-knock after this session :(......actually you can see the tach jump from what I think is a miss-fire. I suppose the rod had enough slop in it to cause this? I honestly thought about having Dan SENDING IT one session on Sunday morning, but decided it was best to try to save this engine for a rebuild. Leaning heavily towards a 0 point rebuild currently.
Side-note, here's the sticker on the dash...... guna have to get a new version that you can see better:

Do I have a Torsen?
Drive it counter clockwise in a slow circle at full lock. If the inside tire chatters, it's still good. It is silent, it's done.
Same test to see if a car has a Torsen vs an open diff. I taught this to Greg Greenbaum back in 2012 because they didn't know how to identify it without pulling a half shaft.

Damn, Mid-O looks like a riot. Sure was in iRacing, bucket list track for sure.
Received and installed my Xidas this weekend. Pondering what I've been doing with my life for 5 years on Koni sports. Starting at 1000/500 w/ OEM sways to make room for R7's with a *. To be honest the ride on the street at lower damping settings (in Austin at least) is pretty good. 1000lbs is 1000lbs on sharp bumps like expansion joints, but everywhere else it feels better than 600/350 did on koni's. The key is not to ruin my perspective by riding in a car with truly comfy suspension. Haven't had a chance to hit the track yet, obviously, but I already feel like these are going to be straight up TTE cheat codes Hoping to send it at MSR-H in about a month, assuming the track is open by then. It's currently a lake.

The laptime was amazing given the gremlins, but I see sooo much time left on the table under braking for all the right handers, Keyhole, T7, T11 into Thunder Valley, Carousel. The right rear would lock with what felt like 60% brake pedal if there was any steering angle input at all. I also missed the apex in keyhole and have to breathe off the throttle during exit, this ends up costing me several mph and negating the need for a 5th gear upshift(was this a wash? need data.), nearly miss the downshift at China Beach, coast through 10B and into 11 with a neutered line/entry to get the braking down in as straight a line as possible. All that and still set a PB. Your car is an $80 prop valve away from beating Neuman. That motor was clearly making some hero horsepower right before it let go!
Thanks again for letting me wheel a couple sessions! I never expected a low 1:41 (no offense) so it was awesome to achieve that. Nolan has gotten much faster this season and is legitimate competition. He nudged me back to third on Sunday when I drove another competitor's car.
Hope you make it back, Mid O is tough to master.
A purpose built NB1 points car would go 1:38.9 in weather like we had Saturday morning.. I want so bad to see it happen.
