One thing that's helps make 5 & 6 pts more useful on dual duty cars is to swap the cam lock to the inboard lap belt instead of the crotch. Easier to use for street driving where you don't always want to deal with the crotch belt. I just tuck that belt back through the seat and it stays hidden until we do a track day.

OP, Camlocks. No brainer
I understand the comfort, but I don't understand the safety, care to elaborate (it seems this well known, as I am re-reading the description and it notes 2" is safer than a 3")? I just wanted to note that it uses a 3" lap and sub.

Info on Schroths website. With the lap belt in particular, 2" fits a human hip bone shape better.

Both of my G-Force cam locks live on the right straps.

just to be clear 2" for lap belts is safer but 2" for shoulder belts is meant for wearing a hans device. If you aren't going to wear a hans you want 3" shoulder belts to disperse the load and avoid breaking your collar bone.

I have an older Willans camlock 6-point I'd be happy to part with for $50 plus a little shipping. Expired, but in good shape.

All you guys using G-Force, do you have the same problem my brother did with shoulder belts loosening up over the course of a session? Both of his did that and turned me off of them.

I'll take it. PM sent.

I haven't noticed any loosening, but also haven't had a lot of seat time.

I picked up a Crow 5 point harness off ebay for $49 shipped. It will need another $25 in hardware to mount. Two possible caveats that I realized after the fact.

1. V-Type harness.
However, this seems like it will be just fine with my harness bar. Wrap it around and through the seat.

2. 40"
The harnesses that I would normally look at from Crow say 50". IF this is a shoulder strap length, then I hope it is long enought o mount to the roll bar and hook into the camlock.

3. It's black and my other harness is red. lol

Is the camlock fastening system universal? i.e. can I used a Crow crotch strap on a sabelt camlock harness?

thats questionable, but it might work. the idea behind the cam lock is the same, but the sizing of the hole and locking mechanism may not. depends on your luck I guess?

My Crow harness showed up today so I was able to try it out. No go. The crow does not fit into the sabelt camlock.
