Those of you with the ability to watch the stream want to keep those of us that currently cannot watch the stream updated?

Yeah, he just did a 1:57
|
Live timing is also on the Race Monitor app. Subscription required but 1 month is only $0.99.
Emilio and Ryan in group A, Sonny in group B. Schedule: http://globaltimeattack.com/wp-conte...SLB-2-Days.pdf |

Go faster Tarek!
Sonny consistent at 1:52s in the Shelby. |
This live stream coverage is pretty awesome.
Also the Miata that went off big at sunset, that's my tuner's son. Car makes nearly 400WHP and boatloads of torque. Apparently an issue with brakes shaking cropped up that was not there during testing, hence the off. |
you guys getting off air at the moment?
|
They're at lunch right now according to the schedule. They should be back within 5 minutes.
|
I have been updating the SLB specific thread. I guess they are two threads covering the same event.
.. our drain back cash can overflowed. We think it's the extra lateral G's the car is pulling. Had to abort my first flyer after the second turn. Switched things around should be okay now. We'll see. |
Mint, thanks.
Anyone know why no times for Emilio yet? ah i see thanks. |
Hyper is looking fast out there
|
Watching the stream from here in Australia. Looks hot there, what sort of temperatures do they get there?
The timing screen below the stream is very confusing. Times don't seem to be listed in any particular order? |
its currently 65*F
|
1:48.113 for Hyper, 1:46.010 for Super at the end of session 3. Things are looking good for both members.
|
I was expecting way more from Super. Something was wrong for sure. I was also expecting more from ryan but its not bad by any means.
|
I'm guessing E is still having catch can issues as he only went out for one lap again. I'm sure he'll give an update soon.
|
Saw some aero chunks flying off Vegas during the live stream, hopefully any damage is minimal.

Love how much run off there is around the track. Hardly a wall in sight. |
^ Oh don't worry, there are walls to find at BRP.
Not sure what's the wind conditions are at the track today, but it's super windy in socal currently, so that could be affecting times. |
is that the day over and try agan tomorrow or all done and dusted?
did we hear from Emilio what was going on in the end? |
Catch can issue not resolved. Won't quite make a lap at full speed before it overflows and lubricates things that don't require lubrication. We have a planned fix for tommorow.
We are discovering that we have reached the limit of aero drag for 420whp. We have more downforce than last year. A lot more. But even with a marginally better L/D ratio, we simply don't have enough power to benefit from the extra smush. The car is also still a little bit tight which gets worse as the aero comes in. So we are removing the third element in the wing and raising the rear ride height a bit. Also removing the dive planes from the splitter. So we will drop some frontal area and get rid of the worst drag components. Overall no one is going very fast though. Bunch of cars that were predicted to go away under 1:40, haven't. Actually no one has broken 1:40 yet. Ryan's car is working pretty well, upgraded from last year and he has not matched his PB yet. Temperatures are good, not very windy so we think the track just does not have enough rubber yet. So this year at least, I don't think Vegas is going under 1:40. I think if we can find a better downforce to drag ratio better for our power level we can probably do a 1:43. Oh yes, we are lead URWD by about .9s right as of Saturday. |
Track looks incredibly dusty!

4 wheels off. Nice one Tarek! |

Ryan had a brake issue. Had to stay late at the track to get it sorted. Between him, myself and John we figured out a way to do a fix with the tools we have. Ryan thinks he's got another two maybe three seconds in it so we might see a 1:45. I sure would like to see him get that record.
|
Sounds extreme, but is it possible to put a pump in the drain line? Maybe PWM controlled to limit any crank case issues? |
I had issues in the morning with my ignition timing, got that sorted during the practice session. Session one had a first lap flyer that put me in 4th but third isn’t looking attainable for me. Session 2 I punted the car off on a flyer as you see in that pic. Session 3 lost the alternator but still went for a flyer and took a tenth off. Grabbed an alternator last night and we are all fixed for day 2 |

Four wheels off the ground at the bus stop for Peter West holy moly
|
Too many cars off, amazing that Ryan even got the 1:50 with that much chaos.
|
Holy shit that was close between Ryan and the Porsche. Almost looked like the Porsche swerved in front of him?
|
Just saw Ryan on the dirt and Emilio score a 1:44:841
|
That session looked like the Baja 1000... lots of offs! And a long full track caution...

Track was just slightly faster, I drove a little bit better and we have less aero drag. Still plenty of downforce though.
Looking at data compared to last year, we saw a huge increase in drag. A lot more than I expected. So we removed the dive planes off the splitter and the third element off the wing. That helped. Ghetto fix on the catch can worked so we can stay out the whole session. Yesterday I only got two hot laps. Did the 1:44.841 on my 4th hot lap of the weekend. That's time attack. You sometimes only get a few one lap shots at it. One more adjustment to the handling balance, a bit more data coaching from Sonny, Dan and Andrew. Two more sessions to try for that 1:43 the car should has in it, according to the data. |
One of the interviewies with Matt thought Ryan had a V8 coyote motor. Surprise!
|
Was just gonna post that lololol.
|
Lol, like a coyote would fit in that frame. Damn things barely fit in a mustang. So wide.
|
Go E Go.
|
Alright time for some new Miata records. 3 more sessions to do work.
|
Raised the rear ride height 2 full rotations on the collars and went full stiff on the sway bar. Finally started to get the load mid-speed Mechanical group balance we've been looking for but the tires are starting to fall off now. 7cycles on the A7's. Went a few tenths slower than it did this morning. Some mistakes on that lap, but other spots that I drove better. So the changes we made to improve the handling balance were balanced out by the front tires falling off.
Still an excess of rear grip so we will put on a fresh set of fronts to get that last bit of balance we seek. 2 more sessions. Come on Vegas, let's do this. |
Still fighting the car setup a bit. Just put a bigger gurney into my wing and we are gonna see if we can break the car into 1:55 |
@Twibs415 If i'm guessing the name right did the car not hit 1:52 in the first session?
Group Group be doesn't have Sonny in it now and does have a red miata who is that? |
Twibs415 is Tarek Latouf. He got his 1:55 though!
|
Stream audio breaks up like teenagers man
|
The real question is, does the audio break up more or does the announcer yell at people on the wall more?
|
How did they loose it there? 180 spin into the wall?

Commentator trying to say Emilio's surname was a treat for the ear. Numpty
Emilio set 1:46.749 on his last lap no less chasing camnam or namcam car (whatever way round it is the commentator has said it so much ive blocked it out). Ryan set 1:47.387 although came in early. Bret in Group E repping the miata too. Is he on here? I am SO excited seeing you guys genuinely most interesting than F1 |
Also Ulrik, high school kid in the red NA is into the 51's I believe.
|
Twibs into the 1:54's now during his last session good work man.
