Default Hard Dog Hardcore Model Stamp?

Hi,

About to pick up a Hard dog Hardcore, but the seller doesnt know which model it is. Does anyone know if there is a stamp on these things and if so, where is it located?

If no stamp, any way I can differentiate what model it is?

Thanks!

I don't think I have ever noticed a marking for what type of roll bar it is on any of the hard dogs I have seen.

The hardcore bars are 1.75" DOM instead of the normal 1.5" no? That should be pretty obvious.

The only other thing will be the rear bars for M1 or M2. No way to know on that I guess.

Thinking about it for a moment. The hardtop ones will have the main hoop shifted more towards the rear. The "normal" hardcore I believe limited the seat recline or travel somewhat. It never was a concern for me as I have short legs and a tall torso.
On the M1 or M2, the rear support tube would likely have to end closer to the main hoop on the M2 version. Or maybe it was the harness bar was somehow positioned closer to the driver seat. I had an M1 hardcore and not an M2.

They don't have stamps or other identifying markings. Visual clues include 1.5 vs 1.75" diameter tubing, harness bar or no harness bar, straight or bent fore-aft braces for the main hoop.

Here are some pictures I snapped today. Also check out the gauge cluster! It's not your typically cluster.

It doesnt appear to be a hard dog roll bar? But it does have a hard dog sticket on it.

Looks like an NB HD Sport with no diagonals. The NB sport has the bent rear braces like that, whereas the HC has straight ones. It's also got the separate bolt-in harness bar.

Sport: Miata M2 Sport Bar
HC: Miata M2 Hard Core Bar

Yep it looks like a M2 Sport w/o diagonals. And the gauges are revlimiter prototipo.

You want a seat back brace if you're planning on tracking that car.

(Rain Man voice) Definitely definitely seat back brace on aluminum seat.

I've got the I/O racing one on my passenger seat, quite easy to install DIY.
