Camera control + direct CAN mapping is now included in the base funding level.

Related, the new RaceCapture and RaceCapture/Pro shares much of the same firmware code, and we've also been working on a WiFi add on for RCP. Here's a video we shot today doing a start/stop of a GoPro camera:


Note, when released, this will be a native feature and not require Lua scripting- this was just to get it working quickly.

Direct CAN and GoPro control definitely seal the deal for me. I'm excited to give this a shot and the price point is very attractive.

 

Does the new base model RaceCapture have any features that are NOT included on the pro? I think I'd rather spend the extra for the Pro version but I want to make sure I'm not missing anything. The only thing I'm seeing is Wifi, which I do want, but it looks like an add-on wifi unit is already semi available. Is it correct to assume that the wifi module will soon become available as a permanent replacement for the RCP bluetooth module?

 

Jpreston. We have to add Putnam Park to the list of tracks. It's not listed yet. I think they are including wifi camera control.
