949 twin organic review
Coles notes:
Wow.
Extended:
Installed clutch yesterday. Adjusted engagment almost at floor so I would not have to fabcricate a clutch stop or cut the pushrod. At first shifting was a bit of a pain as I had to press the clutch almost all the way to floor for the gear to disengage.
After a good days worth of driving the initial bite wore off. Now the clutch still grabs close to the bottom, but about 1/2 way down the clutch seems to fully disengage between shifts. Seems almost as if the clutch has two different engagement points. Very close to ground when releasing, 1/2 way through stroke when depressing.
Now that the clutch has broken in, it is absolutely amazing. I thought I would never be more satisfied with a mod when I bought my Xida's but now I am debating just that.
Shifts are absolutely effortless. No notch when engaging, no hesitation. As fast as you can move your feet thats how fast you can shift.Going through 1-2-3-4 to redline happened so fast I double checked fm's gear calculator to see where the top of 4th is in terms of mph on my also newly aquired 6 speed and 3.9 torsen (swaped in 6 speed and 3.9 torsen with clutch previously had 5 speed with 4.3.)
In terms of how grabby it is, if a ACT harcore with 10 lbs flywheel is a 5/10 this would be a 6/10. You are definetly aware that you are driving a car with a light clutch assembly, but you are far from cringing everytime you stop at a redlight.
Overal once again 949 has released a product beyond my expectations, will post pics and video tomorow.
