Suspension is only 5 pts if you do it right
205 is -7 pts
Hooseri R7 is +10 (+3 total for tires)
LSD is 3

Pretty common setup, lots of more detail in the E thread.

From Greg G: "I spoke with the NASA Exec's this past weekend, and it was decided that there will be specific eligibility exceptions in ST6/TT6 for certain vehicles, with the HP and Displacement caps remaining as written otherwise. At this time, the vehicles that are going to fall under this exception will be the 2.5L 944's and E30 325 BMW's."

**** yeah! They should remove the displacement rule entirely, but this is better than nothing!

Was just coming to post that. They're obviously trying to nerf some OP builds before they happen with the displacement / power cap.

What doward said. I'm running the same TTE* reclass as Arca (2430lbs / 136whp) on my 97, but use SM7's to make room for ELBJ's. The * reclass is next best thing to points build, just gotta get used to 1000lbs springs with stock sways. That's also one reason I would't be worried about 40lbs in the least if going ST6, getting sways back would make up for it I think.

It's likely exactly the same as my car. Just a bit heavier.

Stock sway bars. Pretty common setup. The points cars would do the same thing as well.

I've got an atypical points build for E, I actually have sways/header/intake, just no ECU. I would like to do ECU and 6spd before first event ST6 of 2019..... which is January 19/20 at Roebling for me However, I don't think I can swing both and I believe the ECU is lower hanging fruit. It will allow me to detune much easier if need be..... I think?

Since I'll be right on the edge of the ratio, I suspect I'll pop the dyno a couple of times..... but at least the dyno in the South East has been pretty consistent and not too far off other dynojets.

If the ECU isn't going to add 6-7whp to the car, the 6sp is the lower hanging fruit IMO

Seems unlikely without E85.

I should add, I'm already at 133 avg/137 peak, so I'll need to be 2490 or 2500 for a small buffer. My typical comp weight is the base 2410lbs for E, but usually 2420lbs for safety and depending on scales. Dan weighed 2440lbs at ViR in my car earlier this year with fuel/ballast at 2410 on my typical scales. That's with me in it and I'm ~20lbs heavier than Dan. Talking to the choir here I suppose.

6spd is cheaper too...... I like that part. Need to hawk the forums for a MR 6spd shifter too!

If you're that close, just go to the 2450lb break point and gain your tenth of dyno cushion that way. Stay at max power.

It's official. We're building an ST6 car. We'll start a new thread for it here in a few days. Sonny (our warehouse manager) is the owner and he will be doing the bulk of the work. Dan and Sonny will share driving duties. One key difference from past NASA race cars is that
we will be disclosing every last detail of the build in real time. Maybe someone will keep up with our development and beat us with our own formula. We're ok with that. Our goal is simply to keep the NA/NB at the front of the ST6/TT6 field with
a focused development program. And yes, it will go to Mid-O

Beans. Spilled.

Yay. I’m excited to have really fast miatas in both ST5 and ST6.

I can co-drive it at Mid-Ohio if you want some of that "home track, local, I've done thousands of laps, expertise".

Just sayin...

Luke

Much appreciated. Our C driver, Emilio, has a couple national championships won at Mid O, while our B driver, Sonny, has a track record there in my E car.

Any benefit or just stick with the 15x9 205 combo.
Doward is running 205 on 8 just to fit within the 226 template in ST5.
